Researchers for the Swansea Authority found over 200 dead crows near M4 recently, and there was concern that they may have died from Avian Flu. A Bird Pathologist examined the remains of all the crows, and, to everyone's relief, confirmed the problem was definitely NOT Avian Flu. The cause of death appeared to be vehicular impacts.
However, during the detailed analysis it was noted that varying colours of paints appeared on the bird's beaks and claws. By analysing these paint residues it was determined that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with trucks, while only 2% were killed by an impact with a car.
An Ornithological Behaviourist to determine if there was a cause for the disproportionate percentages of truck kills versus car kills.
The Ornithological Behaviourist very quickly concluded the cause: when crows eat road kill, they always have a look-out crow in a nearby tree to warn of impending danger.
The scientific conclusion was that while all the lookout crows could say "Cah", none could say "Lorry."0 -
When the SHTF you need something to lighten the mood.
Sorry, folks, couldn't resist.
It was cut and pasted from an email I received, so apologies for the bad grammar, it isn't mine.0 -

Even 200 crows (as opposed to cows), presumably within a small area, seems a bit strange!0 -
Hi all,
Still reading although not posting much now I have a little job, which is meaning I can put more into our stores.
Can I ask a favour please? I am trying to help a friend out and find the recipe for crustless quiche. I know it is on here somewhere but I can't for the life of me find it. Does anyone know it at all please?

LOL. Think I could draw a couple of my own by now on cats - of the cats trying to move into home scenario. Cat sitting on doorstep ready to bolt inside the second the door is opened. Cat magically appearing whenever there is food in the offing. Cat sitting there giving you The Eye (trying to hypnotise you into taking them on). By now I don't think I'd be unduly surprised if a cat turned up hauling a can-opener with them....just in case I might have any cans worth opening in their opinion..
Am learning about cats ways - and I'm not even a cat-owner - and nor are the neighbourhood moggies going to persuade me to be....too much responsibility to take on. Havent yet persuaded them to place their little furry backsides someplace else and try giving The Eye to someone else:cool:0 -
:rotfl: mitstm - That's exactly how we acquired our current incumbent!
