Is this where you got your last post from frugalsod?
http://www.cnbc.com/2015/09/28/glencore-may-spark-a-lehman-moment-for-miners.html
Anyone can re-chew someone else`s words, you really do need to name all your sources frugalsod. You post as though they come directly from you
and while I am here, this thread still has some aspects that made it a good thread ie prep for whatever but it has turned into a sub forum for zerohedge nonsense and needless scaremongering. Life is for living and not being in a perpetual state of `what if?` This is why there are so few posters on here nowadays, the very few who regularly post are the ones that keep bumping the thread, it isn`t down to many posters any more. Most of the stalwarts have been sensible enough to leave, rather than be sucked into such negativity. The regular posters can be counted on one hand now
I had to come on to put the record straight, as far as I can see, there is no future crisis. I continue my financial affairs via stockmarket trading as from many years ago. In 2006 there was going to be a big change and I started a thread at that time to help pre-warn and for people to prep as fast as they could. I have no worries nowadays, in fact the signs are looking good for the future. The world has always been in a state of flux and tbh it is far better to just get on with life rather than to continue reading the drip drip negativity that comes forth from one or two posters
And I don`t care what people think of my post, I am not going to sit back and see people scared witless for no reason except through reading the garbage that is written here, the garbage that is written as though it comes from the poster via a lot of personal knowledge :rotfl:0 -
Kittie I don't care about the stockmarket or about banks unless it affects me getting my hot wee mitts on my pension lol. I just like it in here because most people are aware and prepping, like myself0

Financial disasters aren't the only possible source of trouble; in fact, for some of us, a stock market crash would be less bothersome than, say, a storm taking part of the roof off. I appreciate knowing when there are potentially-ominous rumblings in the background, though, whether it be in the financial world, over the Sargasso Sea or under Vatnajokull. I think most of us are grown-up enough to know that potential trouble is just that, only a possibility, and aren't likely to over-react.
Minor SHTF moment here; posting from my mother's again as she's unwell, reacting badly to the fourth set of antibiotics in a row. So will probably spend most of the next week hurtling between here & home, catering for 8 in 2 locations. Not necessarily doing all the actual cooking, but just trying to make sure both households are adequately supplied with fresh stuff without busting any budgets is an art form in itself!Angie - GC Sept 25: £226.44/£450: 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 28/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -

I agree with you mar, I prep myself but there is pointless scaremongering on this thread. Not everyone has the strength of character to look beyond that, in fact some of it could be downright depressing to already fragile living
Re the stockmarket, well that is a basis for the ability of the uk to be able to support people in need, the nhs, schools etc I can see that raising potential imaginary woes would frighten so many vulnerable people needlessly, when they can see the rug pulled from them. Basic prepping for shtf, yes of course but pointless scaremongering without facts and justification, not good for psychology and very depressing for many0 -
I don't feel that any post is pointless, even if I don't agree with the point being made in it or the information contained in it. It is relevant to someone and is obviously of import to the person posting it. To limit what can and cannot be posted is to muzzle freedom of speech and that would be very undemocratic. The information may not be proven, may not always be accurate and may not be of interest to all the people who post on this particular thread but I wouldn't call it deliberate scaremongering, just an alternative point of view and perhaps another persons take on prepping for a precarious to them future.
I try to post positive messages, that's just me, I'm a pint half full person and I've never seen the point in gloom and doom if you can see a way through or round whatever problems are looming. I'd hate to have harmed anyone by anything I'd posted either.0 -
Just had a look at the Deutche Bank situation, it appears that the 5.8billion loss relates to goodwill that the new CEO has decided to write off and which historically came from a acquisition. Slightly more worrying is the provision made for litigation costs at 1.2billion, wonder what is in the pipeline there? Even so taking both the w/o for goodwill and litigation provision out of the equation they still made underlying profits of 1.6billion which is a good % higher than expected.
Sorry, profession wise am a credit analyst so this sort of thing always interests me0 -
I think it also useful to read the opening bit at the start of the thread.
It is then a person's own choice whether they read further or not.
For ages I ignored the Konmarie method thread title but then thought it might be useful information.
Was a little surprised to find it was about folding stuff up!
Was expecting it to be about something else entirely ....:o
I'm so glad you are feeling strong and getting on with your life. Your threads have helped so many.
Thank you Kittie. x
Is it just me that's fixated on shoe polish at the moment?:rotfl:Not dim.....just living in soft focus

I find nearly all the posts helpful, weather the information might be a bit off track. As for me,it makes me look at diff potential situations...no one can truely predict what is going to happen in the future, financially, war, terrorists, weather etc . But I thought this thread was to help, and chat about ALL potential SHTF situations...with the main word being Potential.. And try and prepare to the best of capabilities ..just in case..
I personally think all banks and government treasuries are just juggling with their cash flow.. And for a while yes you can run a business, bank, government and household at a loss, as long as you got a good cash flow, but there does come a time when it dwindles down and down. And all you need is a unexpected blip and it all comes crashing down.. Before you can put things into place to safeguard yourself..also a good cash flow can also give you a false sense of financial security.. Which I have seen time and time again with people and businesses.
My main priority at the moment is to make sure I NEVER run out of teabags again.. I come out in cold sweats thinking back when that happened!!!Work to live= not live to work0 -
thank you kittie for your post, I am being frank here I used to read and sometimes contribute to this thread as it helped me get through oh redundancy ,how to grow food and prep, but I now just give it a miss when reading the forum. I find it to be too "intelligent" for me ,I know nothing nor really want to know the graphic details of banking crisises, I not burying my head in the sand but as my aunt who passed away said to me last week about things in life"it will happen anyway, regardless if you want it to or not" so yes I will wait till it hits the headlines maybe it will, maybe it wont ...who knows? I can only prep so much, pay bills, grow, and store so much ,. I enjoy I tonsils weather reports/migrant issues and information,i enjoy Lynns chutney recipes,GQ allotment stories,Bobs bugalugs tales and Mars jellybabies or lust for them. in fact I enjoy everyones life stories and prepping ways I even enjoy frufalsods opinions ,but I think the thread is getting too in depth about banking. please don't think im an idiot I do know about the world crisis going on around me but can we maybe go back a few months to the way the thread was thankyou. if its going to stay the same well I shall see you all on another thread not so !intelligent" and above my head xxxC.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z #7 member N.I splinter-group co-ordinater

Well the S has HTF at Chateau Nargle this week. Only little sparrow splats compared with refugee crises and terrorist stuff (that would be like being divebombed by a herd of cows) but annoying still.
Wednesday a CT scan result showed I have a swollen appendix and a small nodule at the base of my lung. Probably harmless but they have referred me under the two week cancer suspicion rule. My appointment is Oct 20. Deep joy.
Thursday a washing machine ordered online by OH did not arrive. We have been scammed. The company (thieving barstewards, may they rot in hell) have been reported to the appropriate authorities, but we have lost the money because we paid by bank transfer not card.
Friday my car went in for a routine service and ended up needing new exhaust and radiator, so costing much more than expected.
Yesterday the tumble drier blew a fuse and died, needs a new heating element.
Wonder what today's bit of good news will be?
As I said on another thread......Will you clowns up there on Mount Olympus having a laugh at my expense please pack it in right now as I am getting seriously annoyed! One life - your life - live it!0
