I was being completely sarcastic. Though they might have money they will have absolutely no idea to deal with the storms that life I suspect will throw at them over the next decade or so.

Oh, Fugs I was agreeing with you.

It's pretty much footballers wives, assuming they haven't already filmed a similar type TV 'reality' show down there.

And that would give me more of a reason to never connect that aerial again.
It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.
  • Those people with problems getting to and from hospital appointments should try and find out if their area runs a Voluntary Hospital Car Service. We live in a rural county and my husband does a lot of Volunteer driving for ours. It's charged at 45p per mile to cover expenses but he often takes his passengers right into the hospital, finding wheelchairs etc and waits (sometimes a couple of hours) before bringing them back. Its far cheaper than a taxi, and with the price of bus fares often cheaper than that too (unless a bus pass is used).

Funny enough I was just about to post, that the next village to us has a community car scheme, where you can pre- book the car and driver for appointments or to take you shopping etc, they also have a mini bus. So always worth trying to find out if there is a similar scheme near where you live. Or if there isn't see if there is a volunteer scheme, as sometimes they do it too, or if not see if there is enough interest to see if you can start one, and try and get it funded with grants, sign written adverts on it etc

  • Also not far from the home of the TV presenters, estate agents, football managers & Eastern European magnates here... I recognise that view, our ex-lodger used to work more or less in front of there. And it's pretty easy to guess which supermarket - I shall be avoiding that, but there aren't that many other places to buy Stardrops round here!

Yes, pretty easy and not too hard to work out the mid-Dorset towns you were talking about up the page; really the bus services around these parts, immediately outside The conurbation have really gone to pot in the last few years, haven't they?
  • Well done mar!!!
