D&DD, thanks for asking. It's not too bad this time because they've been a bit cleverer about the cast and left the first two fingers sticking out so I have much more use of my hand- last time I had this op they plastered me up to my fingernails on all four fingers, making it impossible to bring my finger and thumb together and you really can't do anything with that. It's just a bit difficult to keep hands clean with one in plaster - I was just asking Mardatha for tips on the other thread - but it just means the family will have to do the cooking, if I'm not hygienic enough, ha ha
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Have you been hiding in my house KG :D I agree all well worth having/borrowing/watching on ytube

Speaking of gardens I've just picked courgettes, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries and tomatoes all from outside not the greenhouse! Weird year this year but I'm not complaining everythings normally finished and bedded down for winter by now.

I've been reading about Indonesia and their cocoa crops..apparently their government started an initiative to increase production and the trees have all got diseased..will dig the link out later off to make dinner XX

Mary glad to hear its over and done with re the washing would the hand gel stuff be of any use? One of the ones I have says its for when you have no water to wash your hands so I suppose its the same principle as washing/sterilising them? Just don't tell the family lol :D XX

Had a bit of a panic earlier when my washer wouldn't empty after I washed the goatskin rug...I had to haul out the rug, wipe the floor dry then empty the washer with a sponge. Checked the filter, got water all over the kitchen again, but it was clear. So have now put it on again to see if it was just the programme that was stuck. Still I have the cleanest bathroom tiled floor ever ( washers are in the bathroom here as the Greeks think its unhygenic to have dirty washing in the kitchen). Will see if it empties, if not my OH is going to be taking it apart tomorrow while I cook his lamb chops.....

Just seen the weather forecast and we have a few more days of sun before it drops from 28 in the shade to just 10 degrees in the daytime. Glad I got my winter clothes washed and ready to wear.

The worst of all was the throw away line the forecaster added at the end....they were tutting over no one being able to afford the heating oil at 1.65 a litre......then added nonchalantly that the temperature in Northern Greece this winter may drop to MINUS THIRTY!!!!! OMG!!!! With no heating oil????

Last winter Europe was frozen solid and it looks like we might get it this winter. I need to make some more plans just in case, have been following the instructions on 'preparing for winter' on here and thanks to those lovely folks we are pretty well prepared for a normal winter......but - 30 is not normal for Greece!!! Will spend tomorrow making plans in case it happens...any suggestions??????
