I have just thought of other reasons not ironing has benefits. You can always describe the clothes as having designer crinkles and during a kerfuffle you may look a little disheveled and so not worth robbing.
It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.

Nice try! I don't think it will work though - as I think too many of us are aware that "tatty as heck" = loadsa money.:rotfl::rotfl:

Whoops - just reminded myself that I need to up my game personally then....as things have "gone south" noticeably in that direction since I've moved (right now - I've been out in public in clothes that are unmatching/ill-fitting/fraying round bottom of trouser leg and that's only been counterbalanced by Home Area style shoes = stylish "alternative" and handbag was genuine leather:o).
  • Not sure where you are Mardatha,I am near Aberdeen and its scorching, just had to come inside its too hot.

    I wish it was here.

Its not freezing, nor is it raining (but it did quite a bit overnight), but it's very cloudy, and looking like it might rain. :(

There are also options like shell suits and onesies that could also be used to mask any signs of wealth.

:rotfl:Now you are pushing it - seriously. I don't think I've actually seen any shellsuits/onesies for quite some time now I come to think of it. Things musta moved on since then......

I do like to think I could just have a quick change of clothes (and a decent haircut) and fit right back into Home Area instantly - so I wont do the obvious home hairdye job then.....as that seems to be latest "I am so poor" thing I've noticed a heck of a lot of (usually red - darn it...as I used to like dying my hair auburn:mad:(. I always thought hair for a woman my age came in 2 variations - 1. artfully highlighted in a couple of subtle shades and you are left wondering or 2. au naturel (the "I am so 'alternative' " variant) and chose the variant 2. on that one.

EDIT; Otherwise known as the "Could I walk round Waitrose without a second look from anyone?" test...:rotfl:. Right at this moment = errr...nope....

We are desperate for a good downpour,it takes ages to water the poly tunnel and garden.Just put parasol up for dogs to shelter under, can't leave them inside on their own because they get up to mischief.
Spent an hour slicing and dehydrating courgettes, raspberries and white strawberries.,ready for winter.just started to paint the summer house ready for the bad weather.
  • Not sure if my OH actually enjoys ironing but he's quite happy to do it. I'm quite happy too.......for him to do it obviously :rotfl::rotfl:

Peeps may be interested to check out the Road Haulage Association petition on this:

    http://www.rhaactnow.uk/net/

EDIT: Seems to be a problem there?

    Try:

    https://www.politicshome.com/transport-party-politics-articles/opinion.road-haulage-association/petition-calls-david-cameron-%E2%80%98

EDIT; Wonders if a hacker is working hard there? Can anyone provide a link that will work as per normal - ie to that Road Haulage Association re Calais crisis?
  • Has anyone else been having problems with being timed out of the MSE site this weekend? It's been happening since yesterday morning here and will drop out and show the page cannot be displayed, timed out message, then it takes 5 to 10 minutes before it will reconnect me to the MSE forums. Very difficult as there's not much time to post or read.
