Just got home to find about 2" of snow, and , judging by the sky, I suspect there's a lot more to come.0

This wonderfully puts the real risks from terrorism into place.

Frugalsod - Not sure if you have ever looked at this site : http://x22report.com/daily-alerts/
It pulls together a number of articles that are topical that day to do with the economy, including some from zero hedge...0 -
Not sure if these UV products are of interest to anyone: https://www.uvpaqlite.com/home.html
It's a US site but ships globally, and seems to specialise in UV / glow in the dark packs, sticks etc. Some look to be based on a chemical that is recharged by light (10 seconds torch or sunlight) and others are a hybrid technology of rechargeable battery with chemical for items like torches.
I thought the glow sticks would be great for my kids as they're meant to last for 20+ years (bit expensive initially but cheaper in the long term and they look bright) and the packs would be a great night light for my landing or camping.
I've placed an order so will post an update when they arrive.0 -

I checked out the links in that zerohedge article and the link to the DM article is old but the link to Bloomberg is current. However Bloomberg says nothing about cutting off gas, just that Russia intends to bypass Ukraine with a new pipeline. Presumably so that they can put pressure on Ukraine (and possibly the Baltic States?) without depriving themselves of European gas markets
It's interesting, but all of the 'alternative' economic sites I read are reporting it as fact that Russia has cut off 60% of gas supplies to Europe. There was another Zerohedge article today which repeated it, for example. If you didn't know, you would find it very hard to know where that assertion originally came from. The old saying " a lie can be halfway round the world before the truth has got its boots on" comes to mind.
I'm assuming it's not true on the basis that no mainstream media outlet has reported it. And I think it is sufficiently important that they would.
It has been an eye opening lesson in not believing everything you read.
But I'm still glad we've got plenty of logs. Need them this week with such cold weather even in London brrr!It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
It's snowing up here atm.
Not massively, but snowing none the less.0 -

CTC, thats a great link! I downloaded at least half a dozen practical books - chronic pain relief, tinnitus, the farmflop one (that looks painfully honest!) and a few others.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Thanks for that.....I'm waiting for a humane mouse trap to arrive as I have a furry visitor - not seen him/her but can hear it scuttling about. I hope it's a mouse and not a rat.
If your name is an indicator of where you are in the world, then maybe it's a relly of yours:eek:. I'm only a couple of minutes walk from the bridge.:)0 -
Okay, well looks like I was correct. The new Orange SIM works fine in my house. There are also some different symbols which come up on the phone, as I guess this SIM is 3G rather than 2G.
I'm sure that if I made an issue of it, that would be the excuse.
I wonder if I transfer my 2G phone number to the 3G SIM, will I keep my credit, or is that now lost? It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0
