I used to use Orange (indeed I still have the phone, but it stays in the house), but now I'm on Virgin Big Talk.
Out of interest, I've just had a look at the Orange phone (good job to, as the battery indicator was flashing almost flat), and the signal strength is still 5 bars.
ETA: All this mention of Buggalugs reminds me, I haven't seen hide nor hair of her, for about 24 hours.0 -
I just thought of a way to confirm or disprove my suspicions. I found this on Amazon which I have ordered:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001S81AMU?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
I guess that'll show if the Orange signal is okay for new customers.0 -
Spotted this article about oil prices,
http://oil-price.net/en/articles/will-collapse-in-oil-price-cause-stock-market-crash.php
suggests a possible scenario where the oil price crashing could lead to another bank/stock market crash. Sadly it sounds really plausible, particularly in the US with the shale oil companies based around higher priced oil.
Still cheaper oil means cheaper fuel for now so could be complex how it effects the economy here.

The real carnage will be in the $9 Trillion US carry trade as the strength of the dollar wipes out the gains from hot money and it will mean that many investors who have borrowed at low rates are finding that they are losing more on the currency than they can afford. This could cost much more than the shale losses. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -

Yes but if that works then they are deliberately cutting your old SIM off. So now your credit on the new SIM will have an expiry, which did not happen before. You might consider taking this to Ofcom. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -
Are you making or receiving a brief call from/to the phone, every couple of months?0

Yeah. (When I can get a flaming signal.)

I have an Orange PAYG account (although not that old) and the credit is not time limited. Now offically EE but I can still get a signal in most areas I travel (well dodgy in rail cuttings but most places). If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

Gosh, your LA charges a lot more for pest control that my employer!
If it were my situation I would do the following:
1. Block up the hole - they can get thru anything the diameter of a pencil. I'd jam wire wool inside (can't be chewed through) then use filler.
2. Remove the kick boards and leave them off for the duration.
2. Buy spring kill traps like The Little Nipper (v.cheap) and bait them with chocolate. Check every 24 hrs. Because mice are very small, even dead ones don't tend to make much of an icky mess, but I'd leave the kickboards off so you can trap underneath and remove the evidence.
Happy Hunting.I'm not recommending them, and if you can't cope with removing a dead mouse from a trap then "Little Nipper" style traps are less than 50p each delivered and could be considered disposable (I've come across a lot of people who are squeamish about kill traps and more who won't use for religious or moral reasons).
I'd always recommend living with felines, though they are the reason I've had rodents in the house from time to time (they are also responsible for the largest rat I've ever seen, left deceased on my doorstep, thankfully they didn't bring that one to play with)
My brother has recently had a battle with a HUGE rat brought in by one of their cats. It chewed through 2 x 240v cables and the kitchen sink overflow (he discovered this when he was washing up and his feet got wet). It then ate 7 wafarin blocks before ending up in the trap. You can imagine the mess that made...
I had mice in the attic as they came in to the warm for the winter. They then decided to colonise the rest of the house. ONe was trapped, the rest poisoned as the infestation was too big to deal with using traps. I found a dead one under a bed not long ago, and the tapdancing above my head at night has stopped...
Mice tend to desicate rather than rot, so aren't as smelly as decomposing rats.0 -
We had a rat here many years ago, could hear it in the attic chewing the rafters, I thought it was a mouse 'till I spotted it coming up out of the coal shute to take a drink at the kitchen grid (using the cavity as a highway). Went straight out to get the poisoned wheat stuff, two days later, silence.
And this one has been bugging me for ages, I can't work out the translation for RV, help please0 -
And she's back.
Sauntered in and demanded food.0
