The s has hit my fan tonight................... Aaaargh I have water pouring out of the ceiling, waiting for an emergency plumber, thank goodness I have pipe insurance

I hope you don't have too long a wait and the repairs are quick and straightforward.

Recent conversations regarding funerals have struck a chord in another place http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-30392982.

I'm using 2017 tins of veg.

I don't concern myself with dates on tins.

    Where is the stop-c0kk?

    Can you turn that off?
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
  • According to an ad I heard on the radio, it's now a "Stop Tap".

Stop C0ck is probably not seen as Politically Correct any more.
  • What is wrong with c0ck? So what are we supposed to call a male chicken now ?

Update, it was the pipe under the bath and I now have a big square hole in my kitchen ceiling, DD thought it was brilliant when she could see the light from the kitchen in the bathroom :p

To top everything off the plumber missed the front door step and went flying  He was ok and was really nice about it and told me not to worry, but I was mortified :o:eek:

I will be glad when today is over :(

BB, hope you can all sleep warm and dry tonight (including the plumber, since he went flying!).

As far as tins go, I'm a little bit low on the stuff I keep in the kitchen - there's an emergency week's worth (just of tins, on their own) upstairs, in case of floods or whatever. I'm using up odd stuff that I experimented with and quite liked, but didn't want to buy lots of in the end, so meals are a little bit interesting at the moment :D

Heavy rain and blowing a gale. :(

:D. .....i'm not laughing in a bad way. Just visualising kids loving a hole in the bathroom and plumbers going flying.

Hope things get sorted for you soon though, water pouring in from somewhere is the worst....always makes me panic.

No real preps done today. Ruddy District nurse got stuck in a meeting, so is now coming tomorrow. On one level I don't mind this at all as means I avoid some pain......but on the other, it could be doubly difficult to get old dressing off tomorrow, so that could equal double the pain in the morning. It's a lose lose either way I guess.

Did sort out some stuff in the freezer today and am slowly managing to make some room for putting in any xmas treats.

I'll be off for a week if not more, and previous posts have jiggled my head into thinking I really need to go through my stores and check dates on stuff/use things up etc. Will replace in January.

Spent today hanging around for nurse, sleeping, fannying about, or watching movies. Now having a medicinal liqueur coffee...:)

Will work out a plan to use time off to the best I can tomorrow or next day...stuff that only needs one arm fully functioning anyhow.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Calico, sounds sore! Hope its improving.

Have discovered during my animal experimentation that Iodine is great stuff - making absesses clear up super fast. Will be looking into whether its worthwhile purchasing some for use with humans if necessary as part of first aid supplies

(Pet bunny, horrible weird facial absess possibly caused by hay seed, iodine prescribed by vet :)
