Don't store anything you won't use, there's no point in buying a million tins of corned beef if you don't like the stuff in the first place. Think about ways of doing things that are old fashioned and don't need modern chemical cleaners etc. you can do such a lot with salt, vinegar, bicarbonate of soda etc. Look into old fashioned remedies for everyday ailments, if you can't get the pharmaceuticals then know what grandma did for a cough or a headache and grow herbs etc. better than nothing if the chips are down. Don't stock masses of dried pulses if you can't find the fuel to cook them and invest in some decent water purification methods because that's more important in a way than food. Make sure you have a good first aid kit, a good sewing kit to keep your clothes in good repair if you can't get new ones for any reason, the means to repair the fabric of your home tools, nails etc and the means to light even just one room would make a real difference to morale and keep hoping that it never happens, but if it does you'll cope!!!0

thanks Lynne, I know, I know, but I do go into panic mode, and as hubby have told me on many occasions about various thing, I over think things.. and sometimes I just cant stop thinking about the worst case sinario..and this is with all things, not just terrorists etc..
what makes me worse, is what the government and media are NOT telling us... lol..
Also I really think we should thank ourselves lucky that we can grow and rear our own food, in our gardens/land etc, as in some states in America its against the law to grow/rear your own food...Work to live= not live to work0 -
the increased threat level is in all probability because of NATO popping over next week.:AA/give up smoking (done)0

CTC we're all much stronger than we realise love, if you really worry then share it with us, you're amongst like minded folk here and there are many ways of coping which I'm certain are as individual as the diverse personalities who join in posting on the thread. Worrying is inevitable, you wouldn't be normal if you didn't but try to not let it dominate. Make your preps, envisage the scenarios that worry you most and make your contingency plans accordingly, get in what you personally feel you need to make you feel secure, stay alert and LIVE don't be so scared that you put life on hold, you're worth much much more than that poppet, Lyn xxx.0

well it's in newport, but they are popping to cardiff for dinner, which is where I live, I can see 2 of the venues from where I work and will travel along it's length in 30 mins to get home.
but the good thing about our threat level being raised linked to an event is that the risk will lower after that event.:AA/give up smoking (done)0
