Heads up - activity in Iceland - a fissure eruption NE of Bardarbunga. Probably won't come to anything spectacular, but it's been quite addictive watching the build-up.

hahahaha oh gawd that diy link had me stitches, showed OH and he said burst out laughing!

We have threadbare carpets as we ahem can't afford them, we have a couple of rugs. Its not from lack of trying, we save up then everytime we go to order them something goes wrong.

But no matter, i dont mind, prefer floor boards to be honest.

Margaret have you heard anything regarding yours hubbys job?

Been enjoying it myself lol. Quite large now on the webcam, but still a relatively small eruption in the scheme of things, but this could just be the start.

Little sister is honeymooning in europe and flys back next week so we are hoping any big events hang on for a few days so she can get back home. Mind you like she says if they have to they will get back to france overland and wait for the first ferry, so will get back eventually anyway.

Still loads of earthquakes and tremors in the area of the eruption and the two volcanos either side so other things may happen we will see.

well its absolutely lashing down, typical just as i put the washing in.

i do like carpets but we are known for our major spillages.
So everything gets ruined in the end.

As for the material items, i have to admit i can't stand having stuff i would be more than happy with a fire and being surrounded by books. But then i am weird.

Got a real taste for the SHTF and i know exactly where i would go. See the plan is already forming.;)
Just need to fine a place to live there and all will be well.
  • Hi kezlou Thank you for asking about dh's job application. He had a phone call inviting him for an interview next month and he was so pleased to even get that far. I will let you know when we hear some more after it. In the meantime we are being careful with our money and have been thinking ahead as we do anyway, thanks to this forum and great tips and advice I have picked up along the way. Margaret x

fingers crossed Margaret! :T well done to your hubby!

Honestly, the pension credits are a god send, my dad just retired back in May and he's 67 yrs old and back on state and pension credits. Good thing about it all though he could have dental treatment which have cost £590 for free.

So please, please take advantage of the pension credits scheme. It will give you that extra piece of mind.

This is gonna be big. Iceland is going to be a no go zone for some time. I'm stocking up on frozen vol-au-vents and cocktail sausages before the poop hits the fan.

    Webcams are here http://www.livefromiceland.is/webcams/bardarbunga/

but they are getting hammered and keep crashing.

Was pretty cool last night and early this morning when the lava was glowing, then pretty much lots of smokey steam.

Now looks to have slowed down but a big quake back in bbunga caldera and still loads of seismic action going on.

BTW is 2T's (or is it 1T now lol) ok as just seen a fair sized earthquake hit southern Greece. Wasn't they just saying about a quake a few days ago?
