 Heads-up, peeps. Bardarbunga volcano in Iceland has now started to erupt..............at least I have a hope in hell of pronouncing this one, as opposed to Eyja-thingummy from 2010.
It sounds more like one of Silvio Berlusconi's Parties. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -
It already has happened outside Woolwich. Those that committed that atrocity did not go abroad so the risks are here already. I think that overseas entanglements are far less likely now that the government are not believed when it comes to reasons for war.COOLTRIKERCHICK wrote: »Gulls are a pain in the !!!!! and also magpies.. noisey s@ds
When the US and the Uk had the terror attacks a few years back, I really did go into panic mode, I would not go into our nearest city for a very long time, and when I did I was so paranoid, I went to the main shop I needed to go to, and then went. I am not so bad now that time has gone passed, and nothing more has happened in the uk, BUT with the news that more and more extremists going to certain parts of the world, being involved in these terrible acts. I am now concerned and over a matter of time these types of barbaric actions will start happening over here..either with the British extremist coming back into the country, or if they are not allowed to travel to certain countries, then they will start doing something here...
YES I KNOW... my imagination is running wild, BUT.. in this day and age nothing can ever be ruled out anymore...
Though if poverty keeps rising then the risks of civil unrest will escalate considerably like in the US. This I think is the real long term risk to the UK and parts of Europe. Hungary Greece and Portugal are particularly vulnerable. The UK may not be a problem for some years. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -

The same policy needs to be applied to aeroplanes, trains, hotel rooms, etc.
When boarding an aeroplane or train, count the number of rows of seats, between the seat you are occupying, and the exit.
Likewise, when booking into a hotel, locate the emergency exits, then plan a route to them (eg. left, left, right, and any stairways) from your room to the exits.
Do this for all nearby emergency exits, in case the nearest should be blocked.
Also, whenever possible, book a room on (or as near as possible to) the ground floor.0 -
