I have just seen a weather map that shows some parts of the UK may get very strong winds tomorrow...so better batten down the hatches just in case.

Trampoline is already tied down from last week...
  • Not sure if it is a false alarm so keep it in mind i have said that.
Avian Flu Talk have moved their pandemic alert status to level 4 and are saying Ebola is being transmitted by air particles.
some professor or other has said he confirms it, in the latest news section

  • That's the idea Craig.

If I can kill off one or two of them, I might get promoted.

I've never heard of anyone being prosecuted, for killing someone with flatulence, so it could be the perfect murder. :)

hugs and good wishes to you and your family
  • ELONA I've been thinking of you and your family all day while travelling home and trying to find the right words to send you in what must be an absolutely brickbatting situation. It seems so very unfair to have been this long in the clear and then have to face this nightmare situation again out of the blue. I can only imagine the depth of the void you are looking in to, I would say though that you are a very strong family, you've dealt with this nemesis before and you are being ultra sensible in considering options for the future that will make lives easier whatever happens or doesn't happen for your lovely OH. Your girls are being very sensible too and my heart goes out to you all love, you'll have our support through this time of not knowing, we're always here on the forum or PM if you need us, we're there with you , hand at your back and supporting you en masse with our love. You'll get through this, and we'll help however we can, Hugs and love Lyn xxx.

(((((((((((elona)))))))) I am so sorry to hear your news. Please accept hugs and healing vibes across the interwebs for your OH.

It's sobering to recall that amid great world events there are many sorrows which affect us all as individuals, and those we love.

1tonsil, that is a scary story. I was looking at images of the people from African countries piling up at Calais and trying to get onto UK-bound trucks last week and thinking about diseases being passed amongst them in over-crowded and insanitary encampments..........

Thirty years ago, when I studied at a Scottish university, students arriving from a large number of foriegn countries had to undergo chest X-rays to check they were clear of TB before they were allowed to matriculate. I don't know if that was an effective way of identifying TB and then getting people into treatment, or if it is still done now, but it was a thought-provoking reminder that not all parts of the world are as disease-free as the UK and that we need to be careful to keep things as healthy as possible.

Undocumented immigrants with a disease like Ebola is the very stuff of nightmares.

The jet stream has us stuck in the heat wave for the next few weeks....I would give anything for a cold refreshing long shower of rain!

What happened to Piers Corbyn's "Hottest August in 300 YEARS on way as jet stream BOILS Britain".......?

Hello all, just dropping in to say Hi as I haven't got any prep info to share & RL is taking over!

Eloña sorry to hear your news hope it is better news next week .

Just to let you all know I have a collection of pitchforks!!! One long handled two prong one, one three pronged PINK one and a four pronged mangol fork that I could do some damage with if I had to! LOL :rotfl:

I have enough courgettes and runner beans in the garden to start a revolution! What the hell do I do with them all? Still got some dried and in freezer from last year!! I can't even barter with them as most of my friends are in the same situation. I may give them away to bank favours for the future!

Take care everyone, its chilly tonight so I'm lighting the wood burner to warm the house not just to heat the water as I'm too tight to put the immersion heater on! :) Elaine x
