Midge hoods take up the tiniest of spaces and could make a big difference to comfort? Preferably over a sunhat or brain-cosy.

Must go - hot here but wet predicted.

  • Blackberries near where I work, are starting to ripen.

Tried a couple today, and they taste OK.

I'll start picking in a week or two, when more have ripened.

I have been on a few Bushcraft / "Survival Courses"
If you know what a wild blackberry looks like and know that heat produces fire I wouldn't go for a weekend course. They are more designed for people who think food comes in cellophane.

They cram far to much in that not a lot sinks in and you could learn more in your back garden and a few YouTube videos.

If you want to go on a course save up and go for a full 5 / 7 days type one. You will get more out of it that way. You get to practise more and things sink in a little bit more.

After spending 5 days chopping pine trees down in Scotland in one of the wettest Novembers you appreciate how easy we have it in life!

Can I suggest reading this, including the history of how it came to be, as to why I am suggesting this now.

I didn't think the other things (Bird Flu, etc) would basically be a problem for us. I do think we are about to import/have just imported Ebola and it's one of my thoughts on this (besides a decision to self-quarantine if the worst came to the worst ever).

This may, or may not, be a worthwhile thought, but it recently helped a man for instance to get rid of severe MRSA, so its worth bearing in mind as maybe maybe a possibility.

Realistically, I think all we can do to prepare as individuals is to try and figure out our own alternative ways to deal with it/self-quarantine if the worst comes to the worst. If the worst does come to the worst, then we need to be well stocked-up in our own homes (in case we survive) and have a Will made out (in case we don't).

If we don't survive, we will need notices to put up on our external doors to warn people, so they can take appropriate precautions when they clear our houses out.
