It certainly dehydrates me, when I let buggalugs in and out, which I've been doing a lot recently. :mad:0

You are a serf in her world, you should be glad of the exercise. Definition of a door; something a cat is always on the wrong side of.
The parental units have a double-glazed back door. The cats like to sit outside with their elbows parked on the door step until you open the door. Whereupon they may walk away or continue to loiter like alkies at a bar. Anything bar actually come indoors.
They do it to mess with our heads.
Wild Thing and The Queen of Sheba rock up to the kitchen a few times a day to extort a pouch of food then burger off again. Owning a cat in high summer is just like running a drive-thru restaurant, but the beggars don't tip.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

My friend Lee's UK forecast..he is a good amateur forecaster......who says I will get storms this week....again!
Lee Barrett's Weather Forecasts
Weather for week ahead in UK- we're looking at a less settled week in the north with warm sunshine & showers at times too & less warm too with the temperatures nearer to average for the time of year at the upper 60's/lower 70's. Now for Central/Southern areas ur looking at a mainly dry week with warm sunshine & some thundery showers too and warm temperatures but not as high as last week at the mid to upper 70's. Enjoy ur week ahead & More update to come through the week as we head towards August and I,ll have a August update for u too . We have decided to call a halt to our summer visitors (After two consecutive ones were a Pain in the ****, and to get on with prepping the house for the extreme weather we expect this winter. We are working together to make the old house as water and wind proof as much as we can. The next job is sealing the marble stone on the exterior, which let in rain water last winter. We have already started on the stocks of food and fuel and have ordered our wood and oil early for this winter. My OH is building a shelter for the wood to keep it dry this year so we don't have to depend on tarps keeping it dry . We think it is time well spent...even if we are missing the odd chance of swimming.“The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. I have lots of dehydrated meals that I want to pack for an emergency so will be getting some air tight drums for that. Though I am still thinking about the water storage as I am going to have a problem storing it all. I will look into smaller jerry cans. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0

Thanks for the weather lookout 2T, hope you're feeling much better after your allergic reaction, no fun at all for you, poor thing!!!
REBECCALB I found a book on Fleabay 'THE ART OF CANNED FOOD COOKERY- by SONIA ALLISON it's an old 1969 publication using Libbys tinned foods and is full of useful recipes I've also got an old pamphlet from Carnation using mainly evaporated milk but with a useful page of recipes using tinned fruit, might be worth laving a look or on A*azon to see if there are any other volumes about? Useful little books and not expensive either.0 -

2T, that sounds horrible - whatever in Bailey's triggered that kind of reaction? Hope you are recovering nicely now, and thank you for the forecast. Apart from the odd sudden downpour, it does feel quite settled and a little bit cooler, which for once is not a bad thing! We're just not set up for the heat here... our house has quite a good through-draft when certain windows are open, but our neighbours are stifling with their sealed-unit double-glazing.Angie - GC Aug25: £374.16/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0
