Found this re the fire in Ramsbottom.

I plead guilty to fussing around after my DDs And when I was working and had au pairs to pick them up from school, the aupairs used to tidy up after them because it was easier than battling with them to tidy up after themselves - I am still paying the price for that. But they know better than to speak to anyone with that sort of attitude. I have always taught them you should make life easier for everyone you encounter and if you can't then at least don't cause them any grief. Values and attitudes come from parents not from prosperity. It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

I know some of you guys suffer with tiredness. Could this be a possible explanation:

The thing about the monied classes is that they have little idea of what is coming. They might expect to buy what they need forever. Longer term I think that many of them run businesses that are going to fail spectacularly when the economic SHTF. They might have spectacular houses with spectacular mortgages but if things HTF then many of them are totally unprepared for the changes. As more and more people find their lives becoming more and more unstable the prospects for radicalisation of the public increase significantly. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0

Well yesterday I bought some 10x50 binoculars for spotting zombies should that become a risk, though will have to wait for a few weeks for the tripod adaptor to arrive. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0

I was browsing a local Car Boot sale earlier, and heard some people discussing the fire, so I asked where it was.
Turns out it's a lot closer than it appeared, early this morning.
Also, on the subject of Car boot sales, while I was browsing, I spotted seasons 1-4 of The big bang Theory, at £4 per season.
I then called at HMV, and bought the box set of seasons 1-6, for £24-99.
Considering the ones on the Car Boot sale were used, I don't consider them much of a bargain, at a saving of just 16.5p per season.0 -
I can't help thinking, re the monied classes, that there's almost a French Revolution atmosphere developing. Listening to some of the people browsing my stall in the more rarified atmosphere Oooop North, where Dorset meets several other counties and retired financiers, generals & insurance types come home to roost, they really haven't a clue that the rest of us might simply not be able to get off our rear ends and just make money like they did. They seem to think it's all down "poor choices" - we all have RVs outside our LA accommodation, the latest mobiles & Sky TV & go on holiday to Benidorm every year, apparently, rather than working hard, putting money into our gold-plated pension funds & sending our kids to public schools like they did. Said kids are rude, greedy & sometimes even downright nasty when they're browsing in gangs. I hover a lot closer to the stall & will intervene quickly when they're monkeying around with my stock, than I do when we do our regular inner-city events. There's a lot more money about up there but we don't see any more of it.
I smile politely, act assertively & wonder where I can get hold of a pitchfork...Angie - GC Aug25: £106.61/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -

I totally agree, but sadly those who have been spoiled rotten by their parents whether the parents could afford it or not in many cases, have the same attitude.
These little monsters would be the first to rob any food from the plebs if the shtf because they would see it as their right.
But they will get a shock when the plebs who have seen what the banksters aided and abetted by MP's and Lords have been up to and have prepared for the worst do not play by Queensbury rules.
They will have a big shock coming to them, because if you look down on someone and sneer at them because they are poorer than you, then don't expect any help.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

ooooooooooooooh binoculars on a tripod im jealous!!!!!!!!!!
No need to be. Binoculars only cost £30 from Amazon. The tripod adaptor cost £1.62 from eBay, and the tripod, I got a simple Hama version from Jessops (before they went bust) for less than £30 IIRC.
I am looking forward to setting it all up on my desk so I can see out of the window. It might be really good for bird watching but astronomy is the other main use pre SHTF. Post SHTF keeping an eye on approaching hoards of electoral canvassers, and zombies.
The reason I decided to get one was that I have seen a number (not many) on Youtube videos of BOB contents and it was at a low enough price and multifunctional to make sense getting one now for me to trial in case I want to get a better version in future. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0
