Surely the first thing he should say is "Hello I am Numpty Creepyman from TVL can I speak to the householder?"

You mean as opposed to "Hiya"?

    Yep lol.

Some of those that end up with warrants being enforced as shown on you tube appear to me to engage with them too much and spout too much about laws and rights of access. Winds them p and makes them go for a warrant I suspect.

May be better to do the silent thing as you do BB or just to say I do not receive, watch or record live tv so legally do not require a licence over and over and when they ask to come in simply say no I won't let a stranger in and shut the door.

Trouble is now am I wondering what happened to the people in the videos where a warrant was served.

Thinking about it if it gets as far as a warrant the old no comment fallback would be best, let em get on with looking, repeat the fact you are legally unlicensed then no comment-they can see no ariel etc.

Seems very aggressive tactics all around.

Something I have wondered is are Capitas numpties CRB checked?

    Some are, and some aren't.

An "Enforcement Officer" is (provided they were recruited after 2006), but a "Visiting Officer" (don't you just love the official sounding titles) isn't.

Trouble is, how would you know which type was infesting your doorstep?

shtf scenario tomorrow wednesday. Midlands and south. Highest possible pollution and smog, very bad for asthmatics and lung function sufferers. Advice to asthmatics is only to go out with a mask and to have inhalers handy. A bad day for exercise and I have had to tell dh that he should not go cycling. Why the heck has this not been put on top agenda on the news? Worst smog in 60 years when 12, 000 people died

Thanks Kittie. Page won't load for me. I saw a mention of this on BBC news this lunchtime but it said check local news for more info and I was at work. Wondering now if I should keep DS2 home as he's quite sensitive lung wise...

Really? I have managed to get on part of the Defra page and have only found advice saying you may need to use inhalers more often, doesn't mention masks anywhere? Have I missed something?

met o site has the air pollution number on the right hand side. Ours is already at 10 so I am shutting all vents now and also putting my air filters on, dh has mild copd and heart problems although he can cycle a long way but pollution like this will be too much so lockdown tonight and tomorrow. Am also blocking the stove vent and switching the stove off as it comes on early morning for a few hours.
