  • I find that sometimes when I click on the thanks button I get the message that 'this post has been moved permanently' to somewhere else. I just come out of MSE and go back in again and that seems to sort it out.

OK, slight change of tack - I've seen reports of the possibility of a long hot summer, which I'm taking with a large pinch of salt, to be honest - what are the "alternative" forecasters saying? Do I need to empty my freezer ready for a huge glut of courgettes & tomatoes, or is it just the MSM looking for something to be cheerful about?

Be prepared for anything: I've just been gardening, bum up in the gooseberries and raspberries, feeling mellow with the sun on my back .... within seconds the sky turned black and there was a hailstorm!

    :) Evening all.

seigemode, I had a run of those grey boxes a while back but they went away. I've also had a grey msg box from time to time to tell me that I've already posted that post (and I haven't) so I guess the software (or hamsters, who can know?) has a bit of a moment from time to time.

Last night when I tabbed back I got a msg saying the forums were experiencing a temporary difficulty but that the main site was all right. Then I tried opening up some of my bookmarked favourites and it was all webpage cannot be found.

Turned PC off turned PC on, swore and gave up. At least the dishes got done..........:rotfl:

MG, a cat covered in polystrene beads, I can see it now. Was it a black cat and did it end up looking like it had dandruff? Like your cake btw. Big cake is a non-problem. Lots of us here know how to shrink cake.

Been extracting some spondulicks from my bank after the biggest DDs have gone off and will wait for the littlest ones to go then extract some more. Starve the beast, as they say in ZH-ville.

Speaking of which, I need to don the tin hat and head over to the 'Edge to see what the wicked of the world are up to tonight. Feel more faith in the pseudonymous 'tyler durdens' than Auntie Beeb atm.

It is just scaremongering. In fact the government should penalise any company and director that creates blackouts. We need to break the companies up into dozens more and shrink them all. We need competition and they should be blocked from taking over a competitor.
It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.
