Thanks for the offer Nargleblast, but I'd much rather be the Nanny in the Nanny State, with the ability to discipline MPs when they transgress against the general public, or maybe I could be the Tea Lady?
Yes but how many would be on the naughty step?

Been thinking about the wonderbag again ... I'm thinking of making one for the BOB bag, I think it would be handy to have one in the kitchen as well, have been having Facebook discussions about it ... Will let u know how it goes :)
  • I think the smaller number would be those who occasionally weren't on the naughty step, but it would only be for very short periods I suspect!!!

Just had a fella round from the HA to help with electricity usage. He left in a daze, I ticked all the boxes and he couldnt find anything I was doing wrong. He actually kept the paper I filled in to use as a benchmark for how to be frugal. He did leave me a machine to let me see how much I was using which I attach to the meter and a plug in thingymajig for the tv and sky.

He says when he tells people they could save £250 a year by changing suppliers they say they can be bothered

He did suggest I follow through with my plans for a water meter but didnt check as he thought I was savvy enough to be right about potential savings :D

I am also going to look at led lightbulbs as my stocks of the other ones are low anyway. Bit of an investment but if I just do the main ones its worth it.

Didnt mention I had a lousy bug that he could potentially catch by sitting here but kept the window open to hopefully blow tay from him :o

Do you find the led lights worth it ? I bought the energy saving ones before and found they didn't last long at all

Was thinking I led's but at £7 a pop ( and that was cheap ones) I didn't want to take the risk, in my bedroom alone I have 7 lights so that would be £50 ( nearly) to replace them

The energy saving ones have lasted a long time for me and am quite pleased with them. Im just going to buy the led ones for the living room and see how they go, dont want a huge outlay. I guess its horses for courses, I dont have multiple lights so its not too bad.

  • I have LED lights in my bathroom and kitchen. The light is a very clear white light, almost like daylight. I love the light they give off, and now find the normal energy saving bulbs very orange/yellow. Certainly worth the money to me.

An old fashioned twist CFC bulb which I've had in a table lamp for ages just exploded with a spectacular flash - throwing the switch on the fuse board.
Technology - don't ya just love it.

I think your choice of filling is crucial. It needs to be able to withstand heat and be very efficient at blocking heat transfer. So have you decided what to fill it with?
