Pottering about on the interweb and half listening to the Brit1sh Bull**** C0rporation news. Just now they were discussing rbs/lloyds/N'west and what would happen after the scots vote. Since banks have to be legally based in the country where most of their risks are held then rbs would have to move their HQ to England and although the scots would loose a lot of jobs the reporter said "the scots would loose the responsibility for bailing out the banks in the next banking crisis" So they are confirming it's not if but when. Interesting to hear them state it so matter of fact. I know everyone on here is watching, waiting and dreading but I wonder if people will pick up on what he said. Unfortunately at this time of night I often hear and see stuff on the news that disappears by morning.

Yesterday about 2am a reporert in Cr1mea didn't realise he was on camera and was talking to someone in the studio and receiving direction via his ear piece he said "and do you want me to mention that" and then realised he was then on. Wonder what he was referring to.

Look after your dosh folks !

I have a big one(edited to read dehydrator!) bought quite by chance. I am waiting for my solar panels to be fitted when the whole operation will be much more economic. If anyone lives in Humberside area I am quite willing to lend.

Hmm dehydrators. I have one, which I bought from the QVC web site several years ago. It is round, and quite plasticky (if that is a word) but was only £29. It is very similar to one that Lakeland sell now for about £49. It works quite well.

I dry things like HG tomatoes, chillis and courgettes (dried courgettes are nice to just eat, a bit like veg crisps but no fat, and drying seems the best way to preserve them). The tomatoes are nice put in oil with a few herbs and are then like the sun dried tomatoes that you can buy in supermarkets and delis.

I don't think I would use it enough to justify paying hundreds of pounds for one though...

This is Shelli AKA Slasher as she has attitude. We've had her for nearly a year. She was terrible when she came in but has slowly come round. She loves a fuss but when she's had enough she really has had enough and will clobber you!

I think she's great but she needs someone used to cats, especially stroppy ones :rotfl:

We have three pens so we are waiting for the replacement.

Sorry about the big pic, I've only used PB twice in my life lol

Talking about them - or maybe it was Sky  - but it was on the news this morning that the pace of food inflation had slowed for the first time in years thanks to recent good harvests. Strangely no mention of the blinking obvious which is - so we must be due a massive hike now then - due to bad harvests :huh::huh:

:p Groan! That really is beyond the kale.
GQ Snap! We are having the same as you with the addition of peas :D I have a packet of instant mash that needs using up, I will replace it when I go to Sainsbugs.
:) All the best people have bangers & mash on Weds, dontchaknow. I had tomatoes with mine. Peas were an option but that would have required dirtying a saucepan.

Not that I'm lazy or anything, just sometimes busy in my own special way.

Oh, here's an idea for you GQ:

I also had bangers & mash last night with carrots & frozen peas. I cooked the carrots & peas in a saucepan together, and then used the cooking water (which now has some of the vitamins & taste from the veg in it) to make the mash.

If you are having frankfurters, you can do the whole lot in one pan, and the mash has a lovely frankfurter taste to it.

Edit: (Both options require the carrots to be peeled rather than scraped, otherwise you may get a little grit in your mouth.)
