thing is, its too wet to burn... pallets are great, but they do burn quick, so do need quite a few of them...

Has anyone got any links or info on the potential snow from the usa???

If you have a twitter account, it may be worth taking a look at this twitter member https://twitter.com/WeermanAshoka . If not, I would open one just to receive his tweets, he re posts lots of tweets from UK and Ireland, so very interesting.

I started following him a couple of days ago and some of the things he is reading from the weather charts he posts may startle you.

He is Dutch (I think) so some of his posts may be not be in the correct form of English but you will get the gist.

I will have to look back through his tweets over the last two days but I am sure we are going to get the tail end of the storm from the USA, ie snow.

If this is the storm that caused the damage on Wednesday, I wonder what the Valentines Day one looks like!

Stay safe everyone, it looks like this thing isn't going to be over for quite some time.

    hahaha... yep..

we have a lot of dead trees on our land, which do need sorting out, and new ones planted..it was going on the 'to do' list...but we also need to get some sort of cheap storage done for the logs to dry out too...

No, that is the one from Wednesday.

Luckily we only lost two roof tiles so could have been a lot worse.

Righty, I'm heading off on errands and Stuff before the rain comes back. Me and Jiffy the shopping trolley. Cuz I'm a middle-aged woman and I just don't care anymore.............:rotfl:

You may or may not be pleased to hear that shopping trollies are apparently quite trendy now GQ. I see quite a few very smart ladies with them around Oxford Street when I go up that way :rotfl:

Well, the horrendous winds last night nearly 'got' my beloved horse ... he panicked and kicked out through the wooden stable wall, cutting his back leg quite badly; the vet has just been, and apparently he missed slicing through his suspensory ligament by a whisker. I still feel very, very shaky and tearful - and relieved, just so grateful. OH suggested I had a whisky, but I settled for a restorative mug of tea! My heart goes out to all people and animals suffering in this terrible weather - 'stuff' is replaceable, living beings are not. Stay safe xxx

    Complete agree :)

That sounds like a very nasty injury for the poor lad, hope he goes on okay. My old pony is just getting over lamintis - brought on by the shock of the yard being flooded and the stress of having a massive, very noisy, mobile pump running right outside her stable 24/7 for a week. Pleased to say that she has almost recovered but its been a worrying time.

The shiny, new 2014 frugal living budget and savings plan has been rather upskittled by some big vet bills but she's worth every penny :):)

Insofar as a genuine attempt to obtain presumed consent, it's an epic fail but if your goal was to be able to say, with wide eyed faux innocence But we sent you a leaflet! then TPTB are doing just fine.

I don't like being taken advantage of, but that pales into insignificance with how little I like being played for a fool.

They are doing this deliberately. You can't prove you haven't had the leaflet. It's almost impossible to prove a negative.
