Try a tub of WIZZ OXi powder, from the £ shops.
If you need a commercial detergent, Katie Elizabeth Esscents Laundry Gel, from the £ shops, will give 28 washes per bottle.
I use the gel all the time, adding a scoop of the powder when I'm washing my white work shirts.0 -

Surely that's between you and the HB office?0 -
The washing gel looks good but two of us here have to be careful about what we use or we are driven mad scratching. I even tried @ldi non bio washing tablets and had to re wash things because they use too much perfume. The only cheap ones I can use is leedls non bio at £2.45 for 36. I only use one instead of the recommended two in each wash.
I thought the housing officers did deal with housing benefit?0 -
Just had a lovely breakfast using a recipe one of my dd's gave me at the weekend. A banana and two eggs whizzed up in the liquidiser and made into little pancakes. Deeeelicious. DD said she also made them with some cinnamon and raisins added to the mix before cooking. I will try that next time.0

It's worth trying once, to see.
If it works, you are saving.
If it doesn't work, you are only £1 out of pocket.0 -
There is a hailstorm outside. Well I will not be walking to the shops yet!
I could try the gel and if it isn't ok I can always use it for elephant hide dh0 -

Back in the autumn we were discussing the possible emergence of 30s style Soup Kitchens, I feel that things are progressing towards that eventuality fairly rapidly. I wonder how long before we do see some communities taking steps to organise themselves into providing one hot meal a day for those folks who can't afford to be warm and eat as well? It's a damning indictment of life in 2014 isn't it when children are actually fainting from hunger at school, makes the UK sound third world which it is becoming. I think there is a real need to review how the population are expected to manage with constantly spiraling prices and some extra provision made to feed those who are experiencing actual hunger, that is so wrong on all levels.0
