Erm... is this the place to admit I've managed to lose the hoover somewhere? :o
:D Oh definately. It's also eminently suitable for the Hoarders thread where we're telling it how it is. Check out my satsuma confession..........:o

AOT, I had a bit of a weird go-round with the site last week on two consecutive days. When I hit the "Thanks" button it threw an error message and tossed me off the site, as well as the Thanks not crediting. It sorted itself out eventually. I also got a 400 error message, which was a new one on me. I prefer the one which says Bad Gateway as it makes me feel like a wee rebel.:p

Thanks for the heads-up about the travel, Mar, and here's hoping everyone in the top half of the British Isles keeps their power on and isn't too much inconvenienced. Drive safe, everyone who'll be out and about. I'm riding a coach for 1 hour across southern England so should be OK but will make sure to wear my trapper hat and gloves in case it gets very cold over the holiday, as I do like to walk in the woods with my Dad, talking about all sorts of things.

ATM, it's mild enough here to walk around outside in shirtsleeves, which I have been doing. Really should put some troosers on, tho, don't want to traumatise anyone.

    Mar,

more knitting and sweeties weather for ya! Gosh you are getting a pasting this year.

Re, commercialism at Christmas. I think the whole thing needs to be dialled back a good deal. People have forgotton it is a celebration of the birth of the messiah. A humble man who threw money lenders out of the temple and had a downer on worldliness and rich men.

All a bit lost now on the i-generation. Food, drink and stuff to the max

The result is hardly peace on earth.

You're right bluebag. Has got to the stage where it's sickening. And people are so stupid, you despair of them.

Quite mild and very sunny here at the minute. After my drive yesterday evening I am glad. I drove home in torrential rain with spray coming off cars making it like thick fog to drive in :(

Has anyone else noticed that chocolate made by our beloved company now owned by a US company contains wheat. Their choc drink also contains wheat and soya now and is horrid. We have a family member who cannot have wheat so labels have to be read on every trip in case any products have been "improved" with wheat.

Snow on and wind picking up. Waiting for asda to deliver my xmas.
But it's ok because I have plenty chocolate.
  • Personally I think it's time for a real Christmas Rebellion. Take it back to basics; a bit of greenery & glitter around the house, simple inexpensive token presents, a decent feast without all the bits that no-one actually likes, will or should eat, and staying out of supermarkets & chain stores for at least a month starting on about 10th December. But I've had several friends collapse on my kitchen table in tears already from one or other of the seasonal stresses & I just think we should all be saying, loud & clear, ENOUGH!

    Lead on MacDuff!

Another rebel here. . . . . For 2014 I have decide to make radical changes - concentrating on being as OS as possible..... home made and home grown, buying from the market and CS wherever possible and Aldi when unavoidable. Actively avoiding the big boys - Mr T, Sainsbobs et al....
