Re Christmas jumpers St Lukes take normal jumpers and sew tinsel and Dec's on them, then sell them as the tackyest but fun jumpers .
So you could buy one or make one.

What do you all think xmas would be like, after TSHTF ? And I wonder what wartime ones were like.. if they were really sad and nostalgic, or an awakening of hope.0

I think it would be a genuine gathering that was glad to be alive and taking comfort in small things.
Have made youngest brekkie and spoiled her a bit as she has just got back from uni yesterday and made a huge pot of broccoli and leek soup for lunch,
Need to start on lasagne for tonight but another dd has just told me we are having a visitor after twelve today so have to race round madly.:o
Also need to coax DH to get tree and decs out of the loft but last time he nearly put his foor through our ceiling
Hugs to all."This site is addictive!"

I feel so at home here!
I hate wearing a bra, feels uncomfortable even if properly fitted, etc. Best moment of the day is getting home and taking it off!
I hate getting dressed up for things. Happiest in black jeans with warm/cool/clean/less clean tops, depending on the weather, and what I'm doing. I am already fretting about what to wear for my godson's wedding next summer, but if I start looking in the charity shops now, I might just find something....
I hate shopping: ten years of extreme penury whilst we fought a huge legal battle (eventually won it last year) makes me feel very anxious about spending money on anything except essentials, even though now things are a little easier. The idea of "retail therapy" is completely bonkers in my book.0 -

Then there is the team meal. originally £70 a head, now down to £20 & finally the end of term buffet, take in an item from a list but don't get to join in the buffet as we'll be to busy. Can you tell I really not 'feeling the love' at work at present. I've had my work appraisal y'day & I've been told I'm very negative, not really surprising is it.

I think anyone would be negative about that, sounds more like bullying that spreading Christmas cheer. I always used to ignore list items when buffets were done at work as I bake and always have stuff in for that and refused to buy in stuff at extra cost when I couldn't afford it. I just used to bring in a box of homemade mince pies/little cakes/tray bake. My stuff always got eaten and TBH people just got used to me being a bit different lol.
OH just dropped out of the Christmas lunches as he got sick of the hassle. TBH he and one of the guys he was friends with used to go out together for a crimbo lunch alone instead on another day lol.

I suspect alot of us on here are of the same sort of mindset which is why we love this thread. Am I sad that I am glad for my sisters wedding next year I am a bridesmaid so don't have to think what to wear as she gets to pick lol.
I also am not the retail therapy type either rofl. I did some shopping today, but that involved a local cheap but good toy shop for some stocking fillers, a look around the market where I bought some nice cheeses, some handbaked biscuits from the "biscuit lady-Linda", some small chipolata sausages (for pigs in blankets at crimbo and wanted some good quality ones-so popped in the good butchers in town) and some glasses/games and bits from the charity shops I trawled around. Spent just under £24 and really enjoyed my little trip, but its not exactly the crazy spending fest most shoppers go for. I even stopped to have a look at shopping baskets on the market (you know the ones on wheels), can't decide if I should get one or not, but saw some quite funky patterns.

The ideal store cupboard item, for feeding a large family (or yourself and your neighbours) with hot food, quickly.
99p Store is selling 860g cans of condensed Heinz Cream Of Tomato soup.
You prepare it by adding an equal quantity of water, then bring to a simmer, while stirring.
I've bought a tray of 6 cans.0 -

Recently, someone (I think it was GQ) asked me to post a pic of my home made pallet/stillage.
Here it is. Don't laugh.0
