Try putting a spoonful of blackcurrant jam in a cup and filling with hot ( not boiling ) water and sipping it for sore throat.

Just been nagging youngest on skype. She fell over yesterday and has a couple of very nasty grazes that need looked at and dressed.

Threatened if she did not go to local walk in and get herself sorted I would be on the train ;)

Making a lamb and mushroom pie tonight with puff pastry topping and maybe mash and going out to shops later to see if I can get frozen smoked haddock as there was none on the shelf yesterday.

Might have youngest home for a few days next week just as middle dd goes off on holiday.

It's a bit like those weather things where one person goes out as another comes in :)

Can I ask anyone who has one of those clicker-type doodads for lighting their gas ring; do they work to ignite other things, for example, a candle?

    It depends.

Does it produce a flame, or just a spark, when you operate it?

If the S H T F here today it will very quickly be washed off :O it's apocalyptic out there, fortunately now the dogs have stopped barking at it hitting the skylight. Were we forecast heavy rain?

There's 2 types of gas cooker lighters ones that produce a spark and ones that produce a flame; I think the one that we have (flame type) came from H. Bargains.

Poundland sell gas powered "cooker lighters".

If memory serves, you get a long one and a short one.

Mind you, what's wrong with a 10 pack of disposable cigarette lighters

That's what I have in my BOB.

  • You confused me by leaving out the word "know".

You are my favourite Friends character.

    Totally neurotic, but completely lovable.

    Rather like Jamie Buchman.

Rather more expensive than the 99p store version, but Tesco have this lantern.

BTW. Don't bother going to the Bury 99p store, looking for LED Camping Lanterns.

They sold the last 6 this morning. ;)
