Home Bargains have a small wind up lantern, just 4 LED bulbs but the light they give off is actually enough to read by. For £2.99 I am impressed. Make is Expeditions. If they have any left when I get there again I will pick up another couple. Only bought the one in case not worth it.
For anyone that does want a fishing kit they have a beginners set with rod, reels, hooks floats etc everything to start fishing. I think price was £7.99.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Never done veg and fruit together in case of taste attaching to something.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

In the same vein perhaps some posters should take their own advice and ignore posts they dislike, such as mine and not accuse others of lacking a sense of humour or being intolerant.
Also I'm not a fan of the buzzword here and now; it is just a fatalist philosophy, imo.
So I did a bit of reading to understand this preparedness trend from a different light instead. Because quite often, as in this case, the problem is not with the person jeered at, rather with the person who is jeering. So what I read was that perhaps we should find this as a passing phase, and see it as an extension of a camping trip or something like that. It is times like these that we figure out that we get vitamins from pine needles and dandelion tea, pain relief from Willow or Popular bark, for instance. We learn to do things differently, we change our own behaviors, we change our own lifestyles, unwittingly; eventually we conquor our fears as those fears don't exist anymore because we human beings, adapt. So these are threads to learn all you can, and practice what you learn, not strictly about preparedness in it's literal sense. It is in times of pressing needs that we learn to be more resourceful and may be best to leave the thread to evolve.0 -
On doomsday preppers a lady was extending the shelf life of eggs with mineral oil (rubbing on the shell). I have read up more on extending the shelf life of eggs and apparently baby oil is mineral oil with fragrance and will work well. Has anyone tried this ?0

Just crack them into a cup before adding them in case they are off!
I've heard they can keep for months and months with various treatments...0 -
