If you know the power consumption of your shower, it's simple to work out the heating cost:

Cost=(Shower Power consumption) x (No. of minutes) x (Electricity or gas cost/kWh) divided by 60.

Hmph. with my DD you are calculating HOURS not minutes.

    Hi,

Apologies if this has maybe been posted before...just found a link to an interesting website about surviving a blackout. Its more or less promoting a programme on American tv next week called American Blackout and as we have not long had a programme on tv here called Blackout i had a wee look and its not a bad site. Very interesting and interactive. Just remember that you can scroll sideways on the site too to get to the following day and also click on small videos and read short articles too.

Thanks for posting that :) Just because the people on the thread are well prepped for blackouts it doesn't mean that lurking newbies are ;) Some of us are brash enough to ask questions (ahem) others read and learn as they go along. You never know, someone could be learning something new about prepping right now because of your link. Off to go have a look myself ;) Thanks!

:)Mar, I feel the same way about Lunnon Town. I go there very seldom and loathe it; too many people, walking and talking too fast. We have a lot of ex-Londoners here in Provincial City. They love our dozy ways........

I frequently shock local friends when I say I haven't been to London for over 8 years, we are only 60 miles away and many go there all the time. I just cannot stand it!
