HI all
Another one here with very little room for stashing valuables, would definately fall over if i hid anything in there;).
Have been having a think about menu's i could rustle up with food stash and its not looking too shabby:), definately need some more goodies though, very low on chocolate, crackers and tea (hangs head in shame:o).
.
Bought myself a pistol crossbow which arrived yesterday and its proving to be lots of fun. We have already ruined a dart board outside and left a few marks in the garage door oops. I have fancied one for ages, we have a big garden and both OH and I fancied seeing how good a shot we are. All I need are some green tights and a hat at a jaunty angle and I'll be sorted:D.
Planning to play in the kitchen today making chutney, jam and pickling some gherkins ( i feel there might be a joke in there but ive only had one cup of coffee today so my brain isnt up to it yet).
Have a lovely day all xx

A friend who's had breast cancer surgery has some nifty bras with "pockets" for falsies - she said that a couple of pairs of knickers rolled up to go into one side was more comfortable than the fake boob, plus she always knew she had clean knickers.... gallows humour, but it did leave me thinking it's a handy way of transporting kit. M&S does them, discreetly called "post-surgery bras"0 -
Cracking up over the chicken fillet bra potential, I must hie me off to the undie department. Not usually a place where I spend much time, frankly......:rotfl:My Mum had breast cancer two years ago and is down to one boob and those silicone falsies are surprisingly heavy. If she's just spending the day at home, she'll probably just use a soft filler.
I can remember an uproarious shopping trip, must be twenty years ago, with another boobically-challenged pal to try on W0nderBras.Yup, they give you some cleavage when nature has been a tad stingy but we could look down our own bods and see daylight between our ribcage and the bra band.
Just remember not to go thru airport security with your BugOut Bras loaded with supplies or you might end up with more than you bargained for.
Been allotmenteering and hanging out with a pal. The allotmenteering is sort-of preptastic, and I'm soaking some broad bean seeds which I will plant after 48 hours (Mon after work) and this should see them growing until some point in November when they'll stall for want of daylight, and sit overwinter.
This is a trick only open to those of us in a relatively-mild part of the country, or in a sheltered place elsewhere, as if the winter is especially bitter, they won't all make it.
I've done this before, and the plants grew to about 4 inches tall before stalling for the winter, and they even had a spell with snow, I can see the little snow hats on them even today. They survived, but it wasn't a prolonged snowy spell, as we don't tend to get much here in southern englandshire.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Programme on the BBC now about the 70s... just getting onto the 3 day week and the power cuts and stuff like that. Worth a look maybe to see how TPTB handle things (not very well, all things considered)..
Ps just realised it was finishing as I was posting... doh.... there's still the iplayer if anyone is interested! Some classic 70s clothes and hair too :eek:0 -
All the talk on this thread of unmentionable 'stashing' places is cracking me up.
I couldn't fit a firesteel in mine, I'm built like an ironing board.... without the cover.0 -
Today's is the last challenge
Truckers across the nation are striking and it looks like it will last for at least several months. No food or fuel items will be coming into your town at all in the near future. It’s time to get organized, assess your supplies, and make a game plan for the next few months.
Goal: Do a food storage inventory and make a future plan
Today’s Tasks:- Organize your kitchen pantry and any food storage areas in your home
- Inventory your long term food storage items (you may use our calculator)
- Inventory your three month supply items (you may use our worksheet)
- Determine how long you will be able to survive without buying more food
- Make a complete list of what you would still need to buy (long term AND three month supply) to complete your storage goals
- Take a look at your supply of non-food items, how long would your toilet paper, laundry detergent, toothpaste, deodorant, etc. last. Don't forget things like cereals, pet food and pet supplies.
Make a list of all the items you buy on a regular basis at the store and tally it up. Use your daily report card to make lists of what you want to stock up on and how much you would need
- For this day, and ALL days of the challenge: no spending money, no going to stores, and no restaurants … UNTIL YOU ARE FINISHED!
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Bluebag, I sympatise. I've long-since worked out that AA 'cup'= vest........:rotfl:
Waiting for my painkillers to kick in after a sleepless night. Thanks, neighbours, 'preciate that loads. When I have achieved something loosely approximating normality I shall go to the allotment and hit things with tools.
Green with envy over pistol cross bow. Would love one but have nowhere to play with it, dammit.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
