where can you get them?
We all agreed - yes even the staff and the people in the queue behind me - that they were absolutely horrible. They aren't painted in different jolly colours - like traditional gnomes - but one dull colour with a coating of glitter:eek:
But is annoying someone worth the loss of one's street cred? :huh:0 -
YES, pineapple, it is0

I think a whole row of glittery gnomes would definately be a talking point! If you have "normal" gnomes or other garden "friends" I think it will be more MSE if you just painted them with glue and sprinkled with £ shop glitter!! Perhaps you can get some matching tinsel out the loft to adorn them! Getting silly now :rotfl:

Afternoon my lovelies,
Had to sneak away from the garden to play on here as its far tooo hot for me.
Had a wonderful week up in Glencoe (me , DH, mancub, parents and grandkids and daft spaniel all in tow), its a place that we all love and DH and I needed our fix of mountains.
It always feels so good to be home though, I love seeing how the garden has grown while we have been away.
Planning to make some jam today (when it gets a bit cooler) as need to use some rhubarb and berries.
So glad all went well D&DD belated hugs.
I was very spoilt by DH at the weekend, he bought me a frontier stove for my birthday, and we have [STRIKE]played[/STRIKE] coooked on it the last few days (think Im in love:D).
Right I better get off and clean the kitchen a bit before I start guddling with jam making stuff.
Hugs WLL xMoving towards a life that is more relaxed and kinder to the environment (embracing my inner hippy:D) .:j0 -
Just checking in quickly as I've been sorting out the garden all day in between washing etc and I'm ker-knackered.
DS2 was a bit choked up when I read him all your lovely comments which made me start too
The whole experience was shambolic TBH he's had a right old time but if I go into too much detail on here and say what happened I'm likely to get sued..
I must say though his surgeon was fabulousHe did say though it was weird only meeting someone for the first time just before he operated on them, poor man didn't have a clue what he was in for!
Our hour and 30mins op turned into a 4 hour 50 minute marathon resulting in 3 attempts through the groin rather than one as he found so many problems.
Turns out DS2's heart is at a 'different orientation' than is usual, and so everything went pear shaped as the holes couldn't be reached and plugged as planned.
He eventually had to re-do his route 3 times and enter and plug from a totally different place as a result. All credit to him though he did it :T he saw us afterwards and said he's never seen anything like it before though in all his years of surgery.
Right now I've totally de-railed the thread again sorry! I'll get back to prepping issues..promise!:D
XXXX
So relieved to hear your DS is doing well. :T Sending healing vibes through to him and hoping he won't be sore for too long...

Hello all
Another one you may be interested in:
10 billion by Stephen Emmott
A taster from it:
10,000 years ago there were one million of us.
By 1800, just over 200 years ago, there were one billion of us.
...now over seven billion of us...
In summary, it illustrates we are already in a SHTF situation in terms of over-population....
Not one to read if you are feeling a little low.

I seem to have prepped (a bit ... ) for various scenarios, but not for a heatwave. Am in shock (as well as knackered and sticky). Note to self: get the physical jobs done early or late. Do NOT muck out stables at the hottest time of the day! On the plus side, got the fourth load of washing on the line. Hope you're all enjoying the yellow ball.0

I'm awaiting delivery of a super light (36g including carrying box) gas stove.
Price is just £5.11, with free delivery.
Customer reviews rave about it, so I figured it was worth a punt, for £5 and change.0
