Do you recall us discussing these, a while back?
Well, it seems, if you have one of them, you won't need one of these.
Apparently, you can tilt the top of the heater back, to use it as a hob. :cool:0 -
Hotter than hell here in Greece....had to spend my afternoon sitting in the shade! Met up with some friends to say our farewells to them. Unfortunately the cafe where we have been spending our money for over twelve years decided to rip us off on our very last visit! One ''mixed grill'' which consisted of mostly whole potatoes covered with 2 sausage, 2 small burgers and three cubes of chicken, a salad and a bottle of water and we were charged 26 euros! I complained to the manager of course but I felt like I was wasting my breath.
Then my husband discovered that he had lost the house key off his key fob at the pool. We went back and searched but in the end had to borrow a crowbar to break into our own house, which we had secured ready for when we leave. It took quite a time and a lot of effort so I wandered off and bought my other half an ice cream to cheer him up when he had finished breaking in. Then it became clear that he had not lost the key, but had picked up the wrong key fob from the table when we left.
Have a busy few days ahead of us doing last minute paperwork. The car and bike buyers are leaving it till the last minute so if they don't come and pay and clear the papers by Tuesday lunchtime both are going back to the dealers. They have offered a reasonable price (not as high, but still good) and it will give us less paperwork to do. We see the lawyer on Tuesday morning to do the power of attorney and will call to see our doctor and give him the bonsai tree and orchid we are donating for his waiting room. He has been a wonderful doctor to us both.
Now trying to relax before I go and figure out what is going into my hand luggage. With all the restrictions on what you can and cannot carry on different airlines it's like assembling a jigsaw puzzle with bits missing. I have a trophy I won for bodybuilding which is unique . It is carved out of wood and made to look like me, but it is quite heavy. Should I take it with me? I would be really upset if something happened to it either on the journey or if I left it at home. Could I carry it in my hand luggage without a lot of hassle?“The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. When in a state of security he does not forget the possibility of ruin.” Confucius (551 BC - 479 BC):A0 -
2T, wrap it up really well in waterproof and bury it in the garden, like a little bit of you staying behind to keep an eye on the old homestead, and if you forget where it is, or don't go back think how much fun future archaeologists will have trying to decide if it's a ruitual offering to the gods, or a household deity etc. A small service to the menkind of the future and yet another series of Tempus Grex!!! Good luck on your journeyings my friend, have a good and happy life and may the force be with you!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.
Could you package it up and send it back to the UK for safekeeping? that way you would know it was safe and being looked after and there for you in the future. Lyn x.0 -
Thanks for your comment but I have decided to take it with me in my hand luggage. It will fit in and be safe, but might take some explaining at customs LOL“The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. I once met an Irish championship canoeist who went to New Zealand on a year's visa to work as an outdoor activity instructor.
So he took his lucky horseshoe in his backpack, as you do. A proper steel horsehoe. Auckland International's security were WTH?! and couldn't believe their eyes when looking at the Xray and were even more astonished when they took it out and found that it was exactly what it appeared to be.:rotfl:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

HI all
Hope everyone is doing well, Ive been keeping up with your posts but haven't managed to post myself for a bit, so thought I better get my finger out before i'm drummed out the bat club:D.
Garden is looking pretty good at the moment, very excited to find teeny weeny grapes and pears growing (first time mother to both these fruit so feeling particularly proud of them:rotfl:).
Prepping wise, ive rehoused a large candle and some paper plates from my MIL's house. Also decided to buy some click boxes for supplies in the garage to make it easier to keep similar items together, currently its all a bit higgledy piggledy.
I've copied the tablet recipe so I can tackle it later in the week, its a sweetie that I haven't managed to get right yet.... as well as copying the elderflower champage recipe (in anticpation of the elder tree's getting a move on up here) so thanks for the posts.
I bought "More with Less" by Doris Janzen Longacre and must say i'm pretty impressed. It's been on my to buy list for ages so decided to treat myself last week. Its recipes from Mennonites on how to eat better and consume less resources, very american but some recipes I will definately try.
Looked at it yesterday with my mum and we were both surprised how many recipes were similar to stuff she used to make us in the 70's, so enjoyed a good natter and a giggle looking at it together.
Off to put the kettle on and raid the chocolate "hidden";) in the bedroom,
Hugs to all

Hasn't James Lovelock recently said he was wrong about the devastation he thought global warming would cause? Will try and find a linky.
I have subscribed to Piers Corbyn's forecast for the rest of the summer. I'm probably not breaching copyright if I say that it's not going to be a rerun of 10 years ago (the heatwave of 2003). But given that we will be halfway through 2013 in less than two weeks time, and we still haven't had any really hot weather (a few fine days but no high temperatures) I guess most people had already begun to suspect thatIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
Evening preppers
I have taken a huge step..I've taken the plunge and switched from cigs to those e-cig thingies.
To those who don't smoke it'll probably seem just as badbut for me it's a big thing and I'm hoping if I can stay on just these I might finally be able to quit..at least its cheaper tho even if I can't kick it altogether.
My house smells luvverly too as they don't smell!
