I have taken a huge step..I've taken the plunge and switched from cigs to those e-cig thingies.
To those who don't smoke it'll probably seem just as bad :o but for me it's a big thing and I'm hoping if I can stay on just these I might finally be able to quit..at least its cheaper tho even if I can't kick it altogether.
My house smells luvverly too as they don't smell! :D

Very best of luck, think of all the money you will save, and all the preps/garden stuff you'll be able to buy with it!!

Good luck to D&DD also Daz on their challenges. D&DD if it works I may have a go myself. I despise my habit but last time I had patches and went for a check-up they thought I was having a heart attack in the surgery. Apparently 7 days and nights without sleep and being in agony from nicotine leaving my system thus flaring up my arthritis is bad for you - who knew????

Waiting for Thursday so I can stock up on tinned goods, trouble is our money comes in dribs and drabs from DWP and I can't do a big shop. I get very frustrated with it though I am grateful for the benefits. If the bills would bu**er off I would be fine :rotfl:

Going to make various quiches and casseroles from the fridge contents tomorrow :j more like :( really have not got the energy for it all at the mo. Hopefully I will wake up tomorrow raring to go and cook.

A colleague had just one hypnotherapy session and she never smoked another cigarette. The hypnotherapy was paid for many times over by the money saved and within weeks her skin was brighter and she looked younger! :j
It doesn't work for everyone of course. I saw the same hypnotherapist for weight loss. The very next day I found myself tucking into a wedge of marzipan and icing off the firm's Christmas cake

the freebie one was from vapourlites.com just pay postage and it gives you a chance to try them out to see if they suit, might be worth a punt ginny ? think it was 2.95 postage and that was it.lasted me 2 days nearly too that would have been £15 on fags in that time

    .

Ginny I didn't know you smoked! or did I? D&DD you'll do fine with it. Once you get used to it you can just buy the 'juice' as it's called and top up the cartridges.....loads of info on youtube how to do it.
I quite once, after 48 hours hubby called the doctor who said my liver couldn't cope with the speed my body was chucking out the carp. Advised to have a cig a day. Well that was the end of that and I've smoked ever since.
I switched to roll ups as I don't like them as much but hope to quit the tobacco on 28th July, our wedding anni.
I love my e-cig but don't use it when I go out, as I feel self conscious, but hopefully by time it's berry picking time I'll be out with you on the field D&DD puffing away on my ecig :D

I actually came on here for 2 things.
1st, we had a burst tap connector last week and caused mini flood to flat below. Prep for burst pipe:
Water off....check yours opens easily, ours didn't as I didn't have the strength to do it, wd40 sorted that.
    Towels........loads......I have loads :)
Candles.......Have plenty :) to offer neighbour who's electricity is now not working due to your flood :o and they had no prep stuff in the home at all.
Bottled water...........plenty of that :) as it was midnight by time hubby had removed the flooring, floorboards, bathroom sink and bath panel to find what had burst.
Dry shampoo......yep had that too and strip wash by kitchen sink was fine.
The lack of a toilet turned out not to be a problem as nice flooded neighbours gave me their keys to use theirs whilst they were out and DS doesn't live far away.
Also borrowed a dehumidifier to dry out floor/ceiling quicker, and hubby took the opportunity to replace the other connector as it was the same age, just in case.
Good job I have lovely neighbours:o
So check your stopcocks and isolators can be opened and closed by anyone, including children if they're at home by themselves.

    The 2nd thing:
Vacuum sealers..........lidls have one for £20. Do I need one? are the bags expensive to buy? As I now have a dehydrator :D;) would I use a sealer?
Your thoughts and experiences please preppers.

I was asking my hairdresser what to do about my hair whilst at Glastonbury and was dry shampoo OK. She said it works fine, but actually talc is just as good. Put a small amount in the palm of your hand and run it through your hair, no need to brush out.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
