Preparedness for when

The raspberries I have outweed the weeds, I can't keep them down, even in places I'm trying to put in something else. Trying a prepperish experiment at the moment, charging an old car battery from a small solar panel I got on sale at Maplin, I don't know whether it will work or not (I suspect it won't if the battery is completely dead to start). If it does work then might look out for a couple more old batteries, thinking that in the event of power disruption even a short period of off-grid electricity supply once a day could be useful. Obviously a generator would be more efficient, but not very low-profile, running a generator0

I don't actually live in a Bedsit.
It's just that "1st floor flat Bob" doesn't have the same ring to it.my first though was not what the origins of it were, but what else is in the back of the pantry!!
Well, I've had a good search, but I can't find either Jenny Funnell or Lulu in there.0 -

Is it one of these solar panels you put on your dashboard, to keep he battery charged, when you won't be using the car for a couple of centuries?0 -

Replaced my 500ml aluminium fuel bottle, with 4x 100ml plastic bottles.
While it does reduce my fuel supply by 20% (and, on the good side, reduces weight by 140g), I'm still carrying enough to fill a stove 16 times.
I figure, if I reach the stage of needing to fill a stove more than 16 times, I'm in the kind of serious SHTF situation, where an extra 4 fillings isn't going to make much difference.
I've also picked up some Dettol Anti-bacterial soap, one bar of which has replaced the Knights Castile in my wash kit.
BTW. For anyone interested, here's a photo of my Bug Out Kit.
The only stuff not shown, is my 2 man dome tent and German Army (sleeved and hooded) sleeping bag, both of which would only go with me, should I be bugging out by vehicle.0 -

Is that a tanto? Looks like one. Probably not the knife to be carrying if the SHTF and the gentlemen of the constabulary are feeling insecure...
PS cool kit though0 -

It'll charge a couple of batteries alright, provided you don't mind waiting a few month, for the charging to complete.0 -

Provided I don't brandish it, I'll be fine.
In a real SHTF situation, I expect the boys in blue will have far more important things to worry about, than what a middle aged man, carrying a rucksack, has strapped to his waist, under his jacket.
Even if they did take an interest, I think having a rucksack full of "camping equipment", and hiking into the countryside, would qualify as "lawful authority or good reason" for possessing it.0 -
From £land.
They've actually increased the quantity to 5 bottles, 3x 100ml screw top and 2x 80ml pump action bottles.
The tops are interchangeable, and liquid tight.
Ideal for carrying liquid fuels (eg. Meths/Bio-Ethanol/Paraffin), cooking oil, bleach, Dettol, etc. in your BOB.
Just make sure you label them well, with something like dymo labels.
You don't want the labels falling off/fading, leaving you to guess what's in the bottles.0
