  • Loving those pantries!

Here in my bit of South Wales there's a strange yellow ball in the sky :T and all the windows open :T and it's even warm!

June is a bit late for spring to start but best take what we can get I suppose. :D

    "how's summer where you are?"

Missing. I'm gonna put up posters. With a reward.

  • It's nice here today, sun and blue skies but a stiff breeze which is making the temperatures a little lower. It's odd walking in the village and seeing camellias still in bloom alongside bluebells foxgloves and apple blossom, also our magnolias are beginning to second bloom, the wisterias are magnificent this year and we finally have hot and cold running hawthorn, but no flowers whatsoever on the wild blackberries and the elder is only just starting to bloom, another very odd year!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.

Think we had summer yesterday! Spent a lovely day on beach with DGS in the sunshine. Today tis back to grey, damp and cold. Am even contemplating lighting the fire:eek:

Had a wander to B'n'Q with DS1 who has gone all domesticated and is planning to 'shabby chic' his gf dining table and chairs:p Got some cotton string to have a go at those olive oil lamps, but the prices of stuff  We got fed up of waiting for the paint mixer - apparently you can only have white gloss or satinwood off the shelf these days... so got his other bits and went to local decorating shop for the paint where things were almost half the price:mad:, lesson learnt and the service was better!!

I've finished The Long Descent, which was interesting but didn't really say much that I've not seen elsewhere. So I'm just keeping on keeping on, whatever will be, will be.

Went to Aldi yesterday and noticed that they're planning a camping specials week this week. So if anyone is after camping stuff it may be worth a nosey...

    Keep safe x

GQ I've had periods of very long and very short hair and find that my hair just grows too fast and doesn't take long to look a fright when it's short and then growing it out is a pain with bits in your eyes and not quite long enough to fasten up but long enough to be irritating in hot weather, so now I've given up and it's long again. I can just fasten it up if it's in my way and a hair band keeps it out of my face.

Also after having long hair it can be a bit of a shock in cold weather with short hair, you don't realise how much your hair keeps your neck and ears warm:D

As I've gotten older it's gone quite curly so I can now give it a trim, a ponytail on top of the head and cut straight across gives a nice layered effect and cos it's curly it doesn't matter if the cut is not entirely straight ;)

When I was a little girl I desperately wanted ringlets in my hair and poor mum would try ragging it but it was just too heavy and they wouldn't stay in, now it does ringlets all by itself, not sure it has the same appeal in my forties :D

Beautiful again here today but a coolish breeze which I'm ignoring. Been outside all morning and all yesterday, making up for 18 months of no sun. Some of my aquilegias are out today - they were buds yesterday. I do love them. Somewhere out there I planted 10 plugs of Meadow Cranesbill but I cant find it, it has vanished. As has 10 plug plants of Lavender. Will just buy more ;).

I have curly hair too - but didn't when I was younger. It went curly after I had DS (but didn't after DD - whether it was the second pregnancy or just being a bit older, I'm not sure). THe hairdresser said it isn't that unusual to have your hair change after pregnancy. When I think of all the money I spent on perms in the 80's :rotfl:

I wouldn't cut it myself though - I can't be relied on (though I do cut OH's hair). It is handy having options of curly / straight, up / down hair.

We have sun - I have harvested radishes and salad leaves and planted more. More gardening awaits...

    hello lovely shtf'ers

I am having an emotional meltdown at the moment but have forced myself to sort out car insurance renewal and breakdown cover. "saved" over £150 on the car insurance and paid for the breakdown cover with clubcard points. god bless martin lewis is all I can say.

now to attempt battle with the tax return. ugh.

hope you are all ok - I am struggling with preps at the moment - just not comfortable in the new place and really unsettled also missing my darling dog terribly and feeling very alone without her this weekend.

    warm socks all round :)

  • Oh NOO wishing you so many Hugses and happy thoughts , I don't like change and it takes longer to settle in to new places and situations as you go up the clock agewise, and losing a much loved canine friend takes a lot of reconciling, but it will happen, there will come a day when you don't feel so exiled and that will be the first step to a new equilibrium in your life. It took me a very long time to stop being cross with life for putting me away from home in an unfamiliar place, but, now I wouldn't want to be anywhere else for anything you could offer me. It will happen for you love, I hope and wish that it is very soon and you can be happy again, Chin Up, Love Lyn xxx.
