Mine stands about 9 inches at the shoulder, so panniers aren't really a possibility (unless they contained biscuits and tennis balls :rotfl:)
However, the bad attitude certainly constitutes a deterrent - I wouldn't want to try to steal a vehicle she took it upon herself to guard, anyway :eek:0 -

This means, I have now removed the mess tins from my BOB, which left me enough space and weight for a (semi) luxury item, in the shape of an insulated mug.
Indeed, the mug, which contains the handle (had to trim 1/2" off to make it fit), half a roll of aluminium foil, purifying tablets, and half a dozen poly zip lock bags (I'm fanatical about not carrying empty containers) is some 100-odd grams lighter than the mess tins.
Sorry, lurker alert, but as a (albeit reluctant) commuter, this is not a luxury, but an essential item!! :rotfl:0 -
GreyQueen, re.roads - here in sunny Yorkshire it'll only take one more winter before having to resort to pack animals, the roads are diabololololical. The axle on my trusty old workhorse broke last winter, thanks to the potholes, and most of them are still there. When you see people driving in great big curves, they're not drunk, they're avoiding potholes. (And as a result, the pheasants have all started sitting in the potholes, because they feel safe there. )
For those of you rotating preps, who've got the washing up liquid made by small magical winged creatures - the sneaky blighters have made the hole in the top twice the size! I was giving the washing up a good squirt of liquid and wondering why it was foaming up so much, so I checked the nozzle, and there's now a huge hole in the top. Because I haven't been that careful about how I rotate the stocks of washing up liquid, I've still got an older bottle, with the small hole in the top. Now I'm saving it, to use with all the newer bottles. Honestly, you've got to have eyes in the back of your head to keep up with the manufacturers...0 -

Remember seeing a gorgeous Leonberger at a dog show once complete with panniers. He could carry quite a bit in those. Beautiful dog.0 -
Anyone got a funny look, when buying Meths?
I did once.
It wasn't for stove fuel, but for swabbing out the stem of my pipe.
Thankfully, now I'm using Bio-Ethanol in my stoves, the 500ml bottle of Meths I've got in the cupboard, should last a long time.0 -
We have BOB's ready if there is a flood/fire but a prolonged evacuation, for me, is a No! unless the zombie hoards are coming up the track, even then I'd use up my shotgun cartridges first.
Have been thinking alot about security lately though, maybe its time for prickly hedges! Too much reading!2013 NSD 100. CC2014CC- £31.50/£1352014 NSD 86 so far - May 20/212014 G/C spend £741.55 so far May £107.99/£91Debt Free - 30.05.13 Emergency tin - £1000June 23 - 9NSD0 -

But now they want to privatise the fire service  And we all know how well privatisation goes in this country don't we. We will all be having to have little signs on our doors to show that we have paid protection money to some overpriced racketeering insurance company just like in the early part of last century:mad:
They will be bringing workhouses back next given half the chance
Yea Gods we have two more years of this bunch of $£%*£"s
But moving on I had some good news today I have won a dri pak hamper of OS cleaning goodies :j:j I don't know what it is in it but I will let you know when it gets hereBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Up bright & early to pop my student guests on their bus back to Germany (lovely girls! I'm going to miss them) so I actually have some time on my hands before the normal everyday hurly-burly starts. Think I'm going to haul out my longterm stocks & have a look at dates etc. to see what I need to use up & replace over the next month; money's tight for the next two months (ex-student son needing a bail-out, thanks to paying nearly as much council tax on a miniscule flat as we are on a 4-6 bed house & garden) so lots of meal-planning is called for!Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0
