Venice.....no contest for me. Expensive but it has some lovely hotels which epitomise romance depending on budget.

    Closely followed by Positano.

Lake Garda - eating by the lake and watching the lights from the villages across the lake at night is really beautiful ;)

As long as you are with the right person, anywhere can be romantic.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

Verona - with Romeo and Juliet and that sort of stuff.

Venice also but can be too crowded.

The main tourist centre can indeed be very crowded, but even in August if you wander just off the main areas you can find almost deserted Campos and Calles. Venice is a city to wander in and get lost in looking for that special corner.

I seem to sound like a stuck record with this place but Dalyan in,Turkey :D
Dinner looking at the rock tombs lit up, a midnight boat trip up to the lake an a swim, a bike ride up to the mountains, bliss :D
