Where is the most romantic place you have ever visited/stayed?
I'm thinking of taking my partner away for a few days but just need some inspiration of where to go

Yeh, Florence is lovely.
I'd throw in Venice and Prague, too.
I want to go to any of them again, just typing it.

Mine is an airport too! If you get an opportunity to use the La Premiere service at CDG, that is my idea of absolute heaven, and was pretty romantic even though I was alone ... Well I did have a private rest area
OP, what kind of budget do you have? I stayed at the Taj in Boston, overlooking Boston Common, and it was heavenly. I've even said I would like to get married there!0 -
I'd also go with Venice and Prague, also the Bernese Oberland area. But romance is about who you're with and what you do. I've been on a swiss mountain with a school trip; I've been on one and got a marriage proposal. People and moments make romance wherever you are0

Florence is proving popular! Any ideas on where to stay?mynameistallulah wrote: »OP, what kind of budget do you have? I stayed at the Taj in Boston, overlooking Boston Common, and it was heavenly. I've even said I would like to get married there!
I'd love to go to Boston! I'll have to put it on my list of places to visit
Well I was thinking we could go for a couple of nights so it'd have to be somewhere in Europe really.
Not too sure on budget. I should really think about that

I met a Canadian woman in Nepal last year and we travelled together through India. She was used to the high life and being whisked away on dates to the Caribbean etc.
I asked her what her best date ever was and she said she met a guy, he said "Look you have two choices, I'm not a wealthy man and so we can either go to Ikea for lunch and Ill pay, or we can go to a restaurant and split the bill"
The point being it wasn't the extravagance, but the simplicity. The normality of it all and the upfront honesty of life and accepting who you are.0 -
I'd suggest Ikea and split the bill.0

You can cover most of Boston in four days, and the flight is not long at all. I have been known to go to LA for three nights - can be cheaper than Europe!0 -
