That's what you should do. Report it to the police, let them raise it and it will stop then.

Sadly, complaining doesn't tend to work very well when it comes to certain branches of field staff (salesmen, readers) and the still break the rules. They just told they were naughty and not to do it again! If they are franchised, they won't care much, I'm betting they drift between one job and another.

In terms of the rest, just do what you can to allow them to obtain access via you. If its clear and appears on their handheld, they shouldn't even try...

There's areas some of them read in that would see them getting beaten up for that!

Ha yes...he was lucky it was only me in the house & not my fella - he'd have found himself straddled on top of the gate indefinitely & unlikely to father anymore kids!!

you re losing my support a bit now Steffyoak when you are bringing up possible assault and battery ! and by the way, trespass is nt illegal ( if the person has a lawful reason for being there ) otherwise you could start accusing the postman and milkman of trespassing. Have had quite a few idiots barking "get off my land you re trespassing " at me since online reading began whilst I was trying to read the meters.
  • 34 in the the thread and still no recognition of the fact that notwithstanding all that's been said in any / all areas :

    - only the Vadoma steffyoak can initiate any solution
    - no one else
    - not one
    - not one single person of the 7.026 billion people in the whole big round world can offer any solution without that solution being initiated by steffyoak
    - vadoma or what ?

I suspect steffyoak does'nt want a solution .. .. yet, but is waiting till the milkman has been again !

Thanks so much for your constructive & thought provoking feedback. The World (& no doubt this forum) is indeed a better place for your contributions. Must dash - someone's at the door! Regards THE VADOMA

They were both meter readers. SP verified it after the event - although of course it's not the first thing someone is going to assume when they see that kind of activity going on!

The guy I caught this week did shout out he was here to check the meters...this was said as he was scrambling like mad to get back down the gate before scuttling off down the drive like a frightened rabbit!

Strange how neither of them where prepared to hang about & discuss the situation properly i.e. if they thought they had some devine right to be in those positions - clearly they knew they didn't.

Have you considered a large dog rather than taller gates - you don't want to block your own light and don't need planning permission for a dog. Personally I'm picturing a cartoon of one who thinks he has a divine right to chase any rabbits that may be silly enough to try climbing into his garden :p

:rotfl: It's a good job you have a sense of humor and enough to politely /discreetly tell them your thoughts, I'd have thought describing you as a vadoma as a derogatory, insulting & reportable post if you hadn't

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
I would be tempted to put a sign up "access to this area is restricted" for starters, then coat the spikes / top of the gates with nice sticky anti climb paint / grease.
You may click thanks if you found my advice useful

    - only 1 out of 10 possible points there undaunted, sorry but not even a half decent attempt to cause conflict
    - you should make another attempt, this time try to be a bit more creative and try to hide your real intentions

Why do you think that suggesting someone gets their 'head out of the sand' and do something about their problem is a derogatory, insulting & reportable post ? - tell the group undaunted we are all waiting.
