I'm sorry but even if he was an American Pitbull, so bloody what? That doesn't mean that the breed are instinctive killers. I've had pitbulls in the past when I lived in New York and the bad rep they get because of people who don't train them or even treat them properly is infuriating.
any dog can end up being a menace but pretty every single person that I know that has been attacked by a dog, has been attacked by some yappy little thing mainly because the owners think that because the dog is tiny, it's not going to do anything. Even when I had my pitbull and a rottweiler, the dogs that would actually run up and try biting them would be little poodle mix type things.
I had a friend who had a Cane Corso and it was actually attacked by a bloody Yorkie when we were walking our dogs (on leads) through a park and despite the fact that it could have eaten the thing in one gulp, because it was trained it just stood still and let it try to bite it.It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.0 -
I hope Lennox haunts them.

Poor bloody mutt.
Mind you, would any of this happened had the dog licence not been allowed to expire?
Could old tensions be coming into play, as there are some extremely ingrained prejudices (worse than any Daily Mail opinion on council estate tenants) directed towards people from that area? Or outwards, towards people not from that area?
I don't know. But once the area has been purged of bull terrier types, I'll be willing to bet the next category will be 'wolf-like'.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Dogs today magazine have put a freepost address for BCC on their facebook page and are asking people to write to the BCC with comments about Lennox's treatment, just be aware that it being a free post addy it will cost the BCC for every letter delivered to them

I just fear they move on to another breed now, they will get bored of 'pit bull types' and decide to ban some more breeds.
Would be better if they got off their @rses and dealt with the rapists,!!!!!philles and murderers out there, those are the ones who should be destroyed, not innocent pets !!!0 -
I hope Lennox haunts them.
RIP little chap:(
We can haunt them
We can keep on and on and on at Belfast City Council over this and make sure it's never allowed to be forgotten.
Whether it be via Facebook, letters to them, emails, please don't let this go. They have to be held accountable for what they've done0 -

I believe licences are required in NI and that Lennox had had one his whole life.......0 -
I was beyond repulsed by what BCC did in this case and it breaks my heart to think of poor Lennox. I have always been proud to be from N.Ireland, but right now I support anyone boycotting Belfast and avoiding spending their money there! I know I wont be spending my money there again anytime soon and I normally go there every other week!0
