No i am sure of it! i think i once applied for a loan with amigo loans but that was it and i did it direct on their website..
But this isnt the first time this has happened and this is the 2nd time i have had to change my details and i am not a stupid person who buys things of dodgey websites.
I just really need to resolve this and get my money back. I have just sent a email to the Financial os

Firms don't just magically get hold of people's credit card/bank details, so either you or someone you know who has access to the details have compromised them. And it's the second time it has happened as well.

Also, you said in your earlier post -

As stated by the bank the funds are in a holding account at the moment so you have not actually taken the funds, and have requested to ask you not to take the funds as my account have been compromised and you could be involved in fraudulent activity.
I am aware of your company but have never needed your services and never applied. My account is now being investigated.
ll I am asking for is a refund of the total amount into my account immediately or cancel the card transaction on your system and delete all details regarding my name, to save future problems."

If the firm haven't actually got the funds then why are you asking them to refund them? All you should be telling them is that it is a case of identity theft and that you didn't apply for a loan with them (assuming you really didn't). The rest you sort out with your bank - they will investigate the fraud and refund you.

I was recently looking for a loan online, today when I checked my bank account I had been charged £69.50 by a company called Loans Express.

I can't remember using this site directly but did use a loans search engine which must of passed on my details to them as I wouldn't of agreed to pay any upfront fees.

I have cancelled my debit card and contacted visa but they say that Loans Express take £69.50 as a fee and I would have to persue a refund from them. I have telephoned a couple of times but you get an automated message and then get cut off.

I'm at a loss how to proceed now. Any advice would be appreciated.

I applied for a small loan with loans £xpress, very carelessly, I should have researched them so I know it's partly my fault and it could have been a whole lot worse.
As it is, they turned out to be a glorified search engine that also charged me £69.50 for just looking. I cancelled my card and called my banks card fraud line to dispute the visa transaction as £23 was also taken out by money warehouse and I had never even heard of them. I don't think anyone will get far by writing to these companies as they may be part of a wider network of scams. Just call your bank and dispute it. The companies don't have any real way of contacting them, you will be sending your messages into a hole of nothingness.

It's taught me a lesson and it could have been a whole lot worse.
  • M y partner recently applied on line for a small loan using LOANS EXPRESS they took an ad-min fee of 69.50 This was not clear on their website and they are impossible to get hold of. My partner has asked for a refund by writing to the PO BOX they use and as yet no response or refund. Their website is no longer available on line either. I have today searched on Companies House and found where they are registered. If anybody has issues with this company I hope the Registered address below can be of help. We are submitting a claim on line for the refund, costs and damages to their registered address. PLEASE AVOID THESE COMPANIES AT ALL COSTS!

    Name & Registered Office:
    LOANS EXPRESS LIMITED

    Company No. 05204235
  • If the company is unreachable contact your bank to try a chargeback on the debit card.
It may have not been clear on their website that they were going to charge you - you still put your card details on there!
  • Thanks for your reply! hmmmm! As stated it was not clear that charges are applied. The Card Details were entered and this was done so as asked by EXPRESS LOANS to check the identity of my partner and at NO point did it say it was going to charge an amount at this point. Hence my advice on here to avoid these rip off merchants at all costs.

Any site asking for card details is a scam.
They can verify your identification electronically - there is no need for card details.

Before you consider issuing a claim, it might be a good idea for you and your partner to work out who exactly it was that took the money. Was it LOANS EXPRESS or EXPRESS LOANS?

You will look pretty stupid if you try to claim against the wrong people.
