To you it's just another punter; to the punter they've made a valuable purchase which appears not to be arriving, and they get worried because of all these stories about fraud on eBay. To only act because otherwise you'll lose the money due to a Paypal chargeback is particularly cynical. Yes I can imagine you get paranoid buyers, but I'm sure there are better ways of dealing with them, like stating explicitly on your auctions how long people should wait before contacting you.

I think when your the buyer you appreciate a speedy delivery and when your a seller you appreciate a bit of patience. On the days I'm at work - i can't get out to the post office to post items. I now try and make sure my auction ends on a Friday or before my day off. However, if buyer doesn't pay quickly they have to wait until Friday or next day off. I do send an email stating this but don't usually sell more than say 10 items or so at a time so people aren't waiting long. I can appreciate if you sell loads you would be dealing with loads of emails - thats on top of the ones form ebay telling you the item has been bought and that you've received a payment etc.

I won an item on 20th March, and was instructed via the original advert to contact for P&P costings, which I did. I've heard nothing since. I must now presume that the seller will not sell me the goods. I can't pay 'cos I don't know the full amount yet. What can I do? They won't respond to emails, and I have no other way of contacting them!!

I agree with the earlier post. If you as a seller expect to ship within seven days and will only respond to emails after that time - then say so. It may be a daily routine for you - but for a nervous buyer expecting to hear something it can be an anxious wait.

I have just won an auction from a seller wirh 0 feedback. Emailed him to confirm payement details six days ago and still have no response. Is he on hols, has his PC crashed, is he in hstpital, has he changed his mind. In the meantime I want this Item and if he is not going to sell I need to get something else. Poor communication leads to missunderstandings and problems.

Probably didn't get the price he expected.

Did that, they just said keep waiting, because something untoward may have happened to them, like falling under a bus!

Hi, Yes I did take a risk in that respect, but they were only light bulbs, nothing heavy, so it was never going to be a stupid amount. I suspect they won't sell simply cos no one else bid, so I won it, and they didn't get a true value, but then, they should have put a reserve on it, shouldn't they?
    Cheers

I suspect that if he didn't get the price he was expecting for the item then the post and packing charges will reflect that. Weight has nothing to do with it really, look at some of the sellers of wristbands who are asking £3.50 post and packing for a wristband that just needs a 1st class stamp.

You might actually be better off not hearing form the seller and just moving on.
