Tryagain welcome back. Sounds like youve had a rough time of it and i'm not surprised saving money wasnt on your list of priorities.

My day was eventfull. Hubby has been discharged from the TIA (mini stroke clinic) as there is nothing more they can do. I did manage to talk to the consultant about his medication though. He is not supposed to take ibruprofen with asprin (one cancels the other out apparently) but ibruprofen is the only thing that helps with his arthritis. He has been passed around from one clinic to another so i knew something had to be sorted. Glad he has been discharged from the TIA clinic. He only has the kidney clinic he has to attend now every 12 months. I am glad i went with him as he tends to waffle about non important stuff and when he does we get nowhere. I managed to keep his waffle to a minimum and got direct answers to direct questions.

On the way back he wanted to pop in a car showroom to look at cars. Largely they left us alone which was good but this salesman came up to me. He obviously hadnt noticed hubby in the car and mustn't have seen me walk in with him and he came up to me and said 'hello gorgeous, can i help you?'. Hahaha that bloke has made my day! He must have been 20 years younger than me. To be honest i didnt know what to say but he didnt get a car sale out of us. I was still flattered though.

Hubby should be back at work now and ive got a few things to do before i settle down for the night.

Hope your evening is quiet and stress free.

I have silly names for all the dogs that come here to stay with me – Dilly is Dilly Dumpling or else Dilly-Dolly, Lottie is Lottie Dotty-Dog, Sidny is Sidders or else Siddy-Widdy, Ted is Teddy-Edward, Candy is Candy Cough-Drop (or You Little Rat if she's been through the kitchen bin)..... Daft, isn't it?:D

I too have daft names for my kids (but I wont embarrass them) and my dogies - Poppy is Pops, Poppy Poo, Plopperty and Plopsky and OH's fave is Poppers. Molly is Molly Moo, Molsky, Molls and Mollusc!

Reading but on holibobs in Cornwall but internet is very patchy. Will catch up soon x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

    Evening all
Quieter day today & hubby's on a shorter shift which helps.
I arrived home to find 2 lovely gifts, yarn & ribbon, from 2 very kind MSEr's.
I'd only been in 10 mins when DD2 turned up, she'd been given tickets to see the torch, any chance I could have DGD2, 18 months old, I don't mind, but did expect her to scream the place down as last few times she's visited she didn't like me. Today however she has decided she does like me, lots of smiles & chatting, we had beans on toast for tea & shared a chocolate eclair hubby bought me, well I say shared, she licked the chocolate icing off it & left me the rest. She's now asleep in her travel cot.
    Have a good evening everybody.
    Hugs Hester

    Showery here today

Odd day in work. We are moving to a new building but due to the phone/interent cabling needing to be upgraded we are not actually moving in it til August. But it being officially opened on Thursday by a high profile person (;) he is touring Wales this week.....?). So we had to go lug a load of furniture up to the building to make it looked 'lived in' for this visit! Wasted pretty much the whole day doing this, and the same on Friday when we take the furniture back - it's not ours, we've had to borrow it! But boss gave me £20 to go on chippy run for us all at lunch which was nice :)

When I got home I had a letter from work telling me I'm having a small payrise as of 1st July :D, only £15/month more each month but it's better than nowt!

Tonight I am going to attempt some DIY  I bought some canvases on weekend so going to try hang them, wish me luck! :rotfl:

OS wise - dishes washed, salad made for lunch but eaten with tea instead, quick pizza for tea made me 9p YS small ciabatta and HM pizza sauce from freezer :), popped to Aldi on way home to stock up on Super 6 fruit/veg.

    Have a good evening all

My dogs too have more names than they know what to do with. I dont seem to confuse them much though.

Millie is Mill, Mills, Milster as well as 'Black 'un as she is she is mainly black in colour

Lucy is Luce, Cif (she was a little sod when she was a puppy so she got labled Cif (LuCifer). She isnt a little sod now though the name has still stuck. Her other name is Ginge. Blenheim cavaliers are supposed to be more of a chestnut and white but we get great delight in calling her Ginge.

The kids .... well we wont go there will we?:rotfl:

OS Wednesday 11th July 2012 Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 11th July. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
