Hi all.:hello:
It's damp, and a little chilly here this morning; and I have a load of wet washing draped around the bungalow, as I'm reluctant to put the TD on if I can avoid it.
Hoping Marie has a safe journey, and a lovely visit.:o
Tru oh, poor little Daisy:( – GWS vibes for her, and hope the vet can sort her out. That sounds like a “nice” funeral (if funerals can ever be nice, but ykwim).:o
Moorhen (((HUG))) It's not so much the actual event you, or in this case your DS was omitted from, it's the feeling of “I thought we were more important to our friends than that”, isn't it? I'm afraid I've long since given up on relying on others, I've been let down too many times.
JackieO I know your situation is a heck of a lot worse than mine, but it looks like my left (dominant) arm is fairly well out of commission for the foreseeable future – any tips on managing?:o I go to do things automatically and end up screaming in agony – don't laugh, I found out the hard way yesterday that I can no longer lodge the mobile phone between my ear and my shoulder while I move something! (I was trying to shift the netbook off my lap while I spoke to Mr LW on the phone). Currently I'm trying to remember to use my right hand to do things, but it just feels “wrong”.:( And some things I simply cannot do right-handed – ironing and using a computer mouse being two of them!:cool:lolacocacola wrote: »Thank you, it's one if my silly names for one of my pet rats, poor things never get called by their proper names! If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Can I ask a silly question?
What does it mean when people talk about YS stuff? Sorry, I know I should probably know!
I will be back to post in a bit - just wanted to ask that whilst I remembered!
Thanks in advance

Trying, YS means Yellow Stickered, ie stuff from the reduced shelf in the supermarket.:o I think the idea is that the supermarkets use yellow price tags on the reduced goods (I'm never in there at the right time to get any, unfortunately)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

Hi everyone
Thank you LW - I thought it was related to reduced food but couldn't work it out - i tend to call them whoopsies! Now it all makes sense!
I have been taking my lunch breaks every day - not always the full hour but more or less. I am also trying to get in the habit of bringing a packed lunch - I have only had to buy lunch once over the last week or so - not bad really.
Try again - welcome - I am a newby too so we can all support each other. I am really needing to cut back and save some pennies. I was doing well but kind of got a bit lazy about it. I think I will start keeping a spending diary again.
I put one load of washing on before work and will do another this evening. That will be it until the weekend - I have got a nice long weekend since I have got Friday and Monday off work. I am planning to do some OS cleaning - there are quite a few jobs that I keep looking at but haven't got around to - washing the skirting boards up the side of the staircase - getting rid of some cobwebs etc. I must make a list and then I can tick things off as I go along. I have lots of holidays to use up from work - I know its a bit boring to use them for cleaning but I will be able to take my time and work at my own pace instead of rushing round at the weekend trying to get everything done.
Anyway, I had better stop rambling now!
I hope all of you who are under the weather soon feel better.

Good afternoon all,
It has just started raining here, only light at the moment but the clouds are getting darker.
Lolacocacola and Lamewolf, i love silly names too. Our dog is called Jasper but more often than not we call him dingle donk. Or dingle donkey as he sometimes looks like donkey from shrek.
Welcome back Tryagain, you really have been through it.
Tru, glad the funeral went well.
Have been to the allotment and dug up enough potatoes for tea, gathered salad and beetroot which is now cooking. Also, we got 8 eggs from the chickens today.
Need to get a cake on the go so hubby can take some to work.
Hope everyone has a good rest of the day and hugs to those who need them.

Daisy is OK
The vet managed to get her mouth wide open and look deep down, it looked like she'd tried to eat something sharp and it scratched her then the scratch got infected. She had an antibiotic injection and has to go back on friday for another one. I was giving her antibiotics orally, should've just carried on and saved myself £33
The vet said it looked like canker though, then went on to explain that 'canker' isn't a term they use, it's actually something-something-something (I couldn't pronounce it at the time, and have completely forgotten it now, lol) in chickens.
Miss tru (aged 21) wants to go to Cotswold Wildlife ParkShe's got a day off tomorrow so that's where we're heading.
I'm pleased to announce that mr tru is going out tonight so I'll get some peaceBulletproof0 -
Afternoon All
Welcome back Tryagain, sorry you've had such a bad time - hope things improve for you.
Welcome to Lolacocalola (that's quite difficult to type by the way!).
Had an interesting morning - when I woke up there was a camper van outside our garden. When I was pegging out the washing a lady walked past with a little dog and said good morning, she was from the van along with another lady. When I had got myself sorted I went to see if they were ok and needed anything, they ended up coming in for breakfast with their lovely little dog and we had a jolly good chat. They are on their way to the Hebrides and it got too late to look for a campsite. They were amazed that someone wanted to help them and said that when that has happened before folk just want to know when they are leaving. I hope they have a lovely holiday.
DD has come home from work as she was sick, hope she's better tomorrow as she and 3 friends are driving to Alton Towers for a couple of days.
Washing now in and on the airers as it has started to rain and I'm off to work for 5.
Take care. XX0 -
Tryagain What an awful time you have had! Glad to welcome you back
Marie safe journey and I hope you have a lovely time x
Rain rain, sun, rain rain so far todayOh well at least I managed to get the washing on the line for an hour.
DH took me to Bletchley this morning and we spent more than I wanted too and I could have spent much more, but I did manage to get lots of tinned stuff for my stock cupboard and 3 :xmastree: Pressies from B&M, and some T shirts for DH, DS and me from Sports Direct. Then we went to TK Maxx........ They had some great cookbooks
We didn't manage to get to Asda because DH had to get back for some dinner before his second shift. So we will just go to our local Asda when we get our normal shop on Thursday.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
