    Good morning Taplady and all,

not had chance to catch up with the thread yet but i will a bit later on.

I'm off out in a few minutes with hubby. He has got an appointment at the hospital at the stroke clinic. I'm going with him as i usually do for moral support (and because i am better at conversing with the medical staff than he is).

We will probably go out for breakfast and then this afternoon he will be driving back down to Berkshire (where his job is). His digs are booked and paid for and he has a meeting with his boss at 5 which he cant really put off.

Hope all goes well for him, and for you my friends too.

Morning all. I'm being a bit dopey today :o Have almost finished an OU assignment but my brain is failing me, hopefully it will be done in the next hour.

Bitsy you are right, I haven't forgiven her, I think that will take a while.
I have told her that I have forgiven her as there is no point in both of us feeling bad.

Elona You are also right. DS would like to have gone but he understands that there wasn't enough space and that he would have been next on the list. I am really upset.

The main problem that I have is if the boys that went away together start doing things together and leave DS out again.
He is not the sort of child that puts himself forward, he just waits to be asked and no amount of encouragement (nagging) from me will help.

How old is he moorhen? I remember a similar thing happening to me when I was in my early teens, it wasn't nice to be left out. I think it's completely understandable they you feel upset at your friend over it.

He is 16 Lolacococola. Maybe i should stop interfering in his life and leave him to get on with it. He has no idea that I fell out with my friend over it.

By the way I love your username.:)
  • About the same age I was. My mum still gets upset when friends let me down and I'm 31 so I guess it never stops!!

Thank you, it's one if my silly names for one of my pet rats, poor things never get called by their proper names!

There’s not much happening here. Mr tru has the week off so nothing will get done, he always wants to just go here and just visit there. I’m looking forward to next Monday already :D

Tru, I know how you feel. Nothing gets done here unless the rev is out for a longish spell.
She is out until about 2.30 today and already I have cleaned the shower, done a load of washing, tidied the lounge ready for cleaning, cleared the decorative mugs lining the top of the kichen cupboards and they are in the DW being skinned of layers of grease and dust. I have sprayed the tops of the disgusting cupboards and they will have to absorb the vinegar and stardrops mix until her holiness comes back. I have to stand on the top rung of the small step ladder to get a really good scrubbing action going and I'm not allowed to do that if there is no-one in the house.:(

If she was out from 9 - 5 every day I could really get a good system going. Ah well!

We have a meeting here tonight - hence the lounge being tidied and cleaned. I have to make make biscuits as the tins are empty, peanut butter cookies and choc chip ditto, I think.

As I'm on my own for lunch it will be a virtuous cottage cheese salad followed by the the remaining strawberries and cream.

Tonight will have to be something on toast.

    OK. Onward and Upward.

    Morning All
I was going to start the thread at 7.30 then decided that someone else was doing it!:rotfl:
Anyway, been to the docs with my sample (again). Doing a mystery shopping job this morning. Got to go to Ladbrookes and place a bet:rotfl: I get £6 for doing it, my £2 bet back and if I win, I keep it:T Have to study the form now!

Chicken left over from Sunday for dinner. Not sure how to do it yet.
Hospital tomorrow. Hopefully will find out why I keep falling. Have had to use my scooter a lot, as walking with my bashed knees is very painful.

Anyway, have a good day all.

  • Hi Everyone,
I used to a be a regular here until 3 years ago when my life collapsed : split up with husband, had nervous break down, lost custody of son after social services battle, new partner was arrested, had another breakdown etc etc etc... you get the picture I'm sure!.
Don't want to dwell on it all, but money saving wasn't any where on my list of priorities & as a result we are now about £20k in debt (ouch). But I'm slowly trying to get my life back together & this is one of the "steps", coming back to a place where I always felt supported & you guys kept me on the right track! (So, no pressure then!)
So here I am! Back under a new name to literally "Try Again":o
I haven't forgotton our OS ways, but I haven't been practising them either so need to get back in the habit.
Baby steps seems to be the way to go, so today I'm going to shell my allotment-grown broad beans for freezing, chop my rhubarb for wine making & make a potato salad to go with dinner.
There.....I've said it.....I'd better go & do it now!
    Have a good day everyone;)

PS It's good to be back!
