You have made many unfair statements against me such as these:
"Nope sorry you're obviously anti trade and the majority of your posts are!"
"You make the comment about me scaring the OP/readers into using a trade but are continually negative about tradesman!"
"You stop posting anti trade comments that tar us honest traders with the incompetent brush and I'll not pull you up for being silly?!"
These are just the first ones I came across, there are more but I am too tired to do a thorough scientific analysis of your oeuvre. Actually if you look through my posts on this forum, most are not anti trade. For example, before this thread started, I thanked a trade who posted his experience of being screwed by a customer (didn't pay) because I thought the post was informative, and helps us see the other side of the story, so to speak.
Regarding incompetence, you said you would be able to see all the faults in my work.
But regarding your comments on your work in your last post, good for you. If that is your approach then it is not surprising you get plenty of work.
I do agree that it is best to know ones limitations. There are indeed many jobs left to the professionals. I had a professional do my kitchen tiles, £400 plus tiles for a 3.5m by 3m kitchen, not cheap but worth it. Yes I could have had a go, but it would have been expensive had I failed. I am about to tile my porch, 1.5m by 1.5m, as a learning experience. I have practiced cutting tiles, with some success. The porch ceiling was a learning experience, and to be honest I was surprised it turned out well (and it has not fallen down yet, or more likely cracked, which is the bane of ceilings in my house). A colleague did has own shower. For the sides he used normal plasterboard, which he tiled on. Something tells me the person who bought his house has an unpleasant surprise in store. Now if you think I am smug, you would love this person, he makes me look bashful and self effacing.
Am I pleasant in real life? Nah, I'm a right pain, what you see is the Mr Nice Guy facade.
PS I have a leak. I went out for a run this evening, and got soaked. The sky has been leaking for months. Please quote for plugging the leak. I would try and fix it myself but this one is well beyond my skill level.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0
