I have just checked the micro-chipping registration of another dog I own and it clearly states "this document is not legal proof of ownership of this pet and it only confirms microchip registration details". it also says this on the KC paperwork.

The dogs passports would have expired as she did not keep it current due to letting the vaccinations lapse.

Legally, this is a complicated matter. However, case precedence is that the dogs are "owned" by whomever has their microchip registered to them, their passport and a regular history of vets appointments.

I'd have though that a signed contract transferring ownership trumps all that...

To be honest, it doesn't bother me if she keeps the paperwork as long as I keep the dogs. I can't bear the thought of them going back to that hell and if she doesn't send it to me then its my understanding that I wont ever have to give her a puppy back!!
  • If she tries to get them back tell her she must pay their boarding fees of £
. You have fed watered and walked them since you have had them. Also add any other bills they have incurred whilst they have lived with you.

Good luck op, she sounds a totall nutter, and these dogs must not go back into her 'care' (I use that term lightly).
