I do fine it interesting OP wont tell us the breed of the dogs even though a couple of people have asked.
If I was the OP I would not mention the breed either. If this turns into a legal battle for the OP, she will not want info posted on a public forum potentially used. The OP has also not mentioned where she became aware of the dogs (website, breed club etc) which is also wise.
It is no different than on the employment board where people are advised not to put things on that will identify them or their employer. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -

And please think very carefully before breeding. I echo what others have said about health tests etc. If done right (and ethically), you would be unlikely to make a profit.
I'm also very intrigued as to what breed these dogs may be, if they are worth £1000 each in circumstances such as this.
Polly, I havn't purchased the dogs to make a profit as the breed i'm involved in proves very difficult to whelp and has very small litters. No puppies will be available to the pet market as it's my intention to keep any puppies and show them.
I am a kennel club assured breeder, but I don't breed often or for the pet market. I only breed so I can show my dogs and give them the best of everything.
The only reason I have not listed my breed is because it's a very small world and although i'm asking for advice, I do want to keep this as private as possible so I can not place too much personal information online.
The seller is personally known to me and she approached me, I am fully away of the history of both dogs and that they are fully registered. No selling sites were involved.0 -
please read the pm i have just sent you ... i take it that these dogs are high end in price .... such as pug , or french bulldog ?
out of curiosity did you buy them off of preloved ?
only that there is a spat between someone on preloved who sold a dog and a !!!!! ; then buyer no1 put them back up for sale within hours of takeing them home too sell for more money! and successfully selling on the pair too buyer no2... the original seller has made an annoucement that keeps getting removed from preloved forum and for sale section ... that she wont be giving buyer no the paperwork for the !!!!! unless she pays her the extra money !... might be related too you might be not ...dispute relates too fawn black masked french bulldogs.....=!!!!! =female dog0 -

Its none of the breeds you've listed. My breed have very small litters but are one of the few breeds that have no KC obligatory health tests required on them, they are a healthy breed, hoever not without their problems that our breed clubs are addressing0 -
Right, lemme see if I've got this straight:
1. You bought two dogs which were already known to you, from a seller who was already known to you.
2. You are satisfied that the dogs are the real deal.
3. You have a signed contract transferring the ownership of the dogs to you.
So surely all you need to do now is to contact the Kennel Club, tell them that the dog's registration is being withheld, and asking them to issue a new one in your name? This can't be the first time something like this has happened, and they must have procedures for dealing with it. And even if they charge for inspecting the animal and/or the contract, as I understand it you are still £1,000 up on this deal?Je suis Charlie.0 -

I've been in contact with the kennel club and they are powerless, they will not issue her paperwork to me. I have already paid for a duplicate reg doc to be sent to the seller as she said that she had lost it, however I now believe it was purposefully retained and she will not forward the duplicate to me.
Having just checked through their paperwork, I can see that their micro-chipping reg's are also missing and she said she had thrown their passports away so I don't have them either. I trusted the seller, who up until last week was considered to be a friend.
Me being £1000 up is not of any concern to me, I just wanted the seller to do as she said and for me to legally own the dogs.0 -

Legally, this is a complicated matter. However, case precedence is that the dogs are "owned" by whomever has their microchip registered to them, their passport and a regular history of vets appointments. Obviously some of these won't apply in every case - dogs without a microchip won't need one, and if they've never had passports you don't need those, but if these dogs had both you'll need them swapped to your name. Vets appointments will build up with time, and the one you did after buying them will go in your favour.
With regards to the paperwork, there isn't a lot you can do. The KC won't send new papers without her permission, because of the fraud risk etc. I suppose you have to hope she gets bored and sends them on.
Forgive me if this was in the first post, its been a long day - has she said why she won't send it on? Does she want the dogs back, or is she just avoiding sending it? Is it possible that its a fake, or that there actually isn't a certificate at all?0 -

I'm not actually sure why she won't send me the docs, just that she wont. She wont return my calls or messages either So I have no way of finding out.
The documentation and registration is genuine as are the dogs. i have all their purchase, import and quarentine history and paperwork. Also their kennel club pedigree's and numbers.
But it appears i've been scammed0
