It does only record Freeview, if you want to record BBC1 you record the digital Freeview BBC1 channel not the analogue BBC1 channel your TV shows without a Freeview box.
It uses your normal aerial to get Freeview so you need to be in a Freeview area which most places are.Don't take life too seriously, no one gets out alive0 -

Can anyone recommend a "reasonably priced" PVR that will record from scart, if such a thing exists?0 -

I am not aware of any such devices, but I could be wrong.
Perhaps a dvd recorder might be more appropriate?0 -
Mine arrived this morning in a well and truly beaten up box with a massive yellow sticker all over it saying "PICTURE FAULT!". Doesn't bode well does it?
Also, I got an instruction manual, but no batteries for the remote control, alas.
I'll try it this afternoon and report back.0 -
In Asda yesterday I noticed they had a Dual 80gig pvr, looks remarkably like the Digihome, rollback to £80. Not many on the shelf, and next to the Goodmans one at about £99.
btw I have the Digihome, and I find it easy to use, as all I want is to record stuff to watch later or in case the phone rings while it is on - and it is bliss fast-forwarding through adverts!!!!. If I wanted to save to disc or to retain permanently, then I would probably use something else.0 -
Ah well, mine doesn't work so it will have to go back.
The unit starts up, says "Disk check please wait" on the little green screen, makes a loud whining noise and then does not much else. There's no picture output at all, no menus, nothing - and a factory reset doesn't cure it.
I presume dabs don't have the best quality testers in the world. If any. Not good enough.0 -
Hiya
I've got a sony tv with integrated freeview, and a sony dvd player/surround sound system. I'm just wondering whether anyone could explain how this would work with the DH box ?At the moment the RF aeriel lead comes in to the back of the tv - and it's got a rf socket output to the aeriel socket on my video player: if that helps.
Also, noticed the comments about the 2amp/5amp spec - do any of the people who recently got one of these boxes know what amp supply its coming with ?
Thanks.0
