Not disagreeing with you at all but one problem is Credit reference agencies are supposed to hold information passed to them so if a creditor or other agency doesn't update agency because they "forgot", couldn't be bothered, slipped through the system or simply want to hold a grudge it can make our credit reference files a big mess.

I bet some of us have experience of a creditor grudge. I know I have two who have, are and will in the future make things difficult but thats my battle after discharge.

I went BR in 2006, was discharged in Mach 07.

I tried last year for a savings account with the co-op (my basic account I took out with them the lday after going BR) but they wouldn't let me have one!

I've got an account now with Lloyds which I opened 3 weeks ago, normal account with cheque book, card and a £500 overdraft.

It's crazy the way they all work.

It is crazy how they work, i telephoned my bank (co op) this afternoon to explain that my o/h had got a vanquis card with hardly any savings, and i applied and didnt get one. This particular man i spoke to wasnt really that helpful, but he did tell me that "plenty" of people do get different accounts and credit cards. I explained that after my credit files are cleaned up i will be looking at different options!

The advisor said that from 2008 all banks have changed in reguards of lending money and criterias etc, even though i have an excellent record with them. I bet even after the clean up, nothing will happen, it will be the same.

I wanted to ask you guys, if they know my circumstances in which they do, why do they still want me to come to see them again in September after clean up? Do they get commission even though like so many have stated do not get any form of upgrade with them?

Thank you though for all the advice you have given me, oh btw, another bank i was sounding out today said Vanquis do not give credit cards for people who are just out of b/r and to apply after 3 years? what? !!! I have read of 4 people who have them straight after b/r ended....

By the way i know this is not funny as at the moment i am pulling my hair out, not literally but, i have gone from creditors telephoning me and horrible letters on my door mat each morning, to waking up to 26 texts messages and cold callers on my home phone wanting to give me loans. Grrrrrr, i text "stop" but hey that doesn't work.

I wouldn't mind but i never applied for a loan, never wanted one, so leave me alonnnnnnnneeeeeee.

Do what I do wen cold callers are on phone- I say can you hold on a minute will just get a pen- then i go into kitchen make a coffee (leave them still hanging on) they soon get fed up and slowly but surely all those who used to phone me no longer do!.

Good luck with with trying to get account and for the future.

:rotfl:Thank you very much, actually i do this already, but unfortunately i got caught out, i was speaking to the cold caller on my mobile and left him hanging and would you believe the other house phone rang, it was the same man He said Mrs XXX i seem to have lost you on the other phone, can we continue with our conversation i said er no, thank you and goodbye
