I am Miffed !

Please can someone explain to me how this has happened.

My husband and i have been discharged from B/R may 24th 2012.

Since then i have had a interview with my bank saying i have an excellent account, plenty of wages going in , the usual blurb but refused me an upgraded co op account and credit card until i had cleaned up my credit files. At present i am half way through this. I have applied online to Vanquist and Capital one but got refused on both even though i have over £2000 savings and over a thousand going in each month.

However my husband whom is self employed, gives me majority of bill money so therefore not a lot in account, gets an application form through as "specially selected" in the post. He fills it in, receives a phone call tonight and gets a card !

My husband has not cleaned up any files either.

I am pleased for him of course, but i do not understand how this has happened.

When I was reading your story I'm thinking all that is normal, it takes time and patience to get 'normal' current accounts and credit and then you said about your dh! Bizarre! No idea how he escaped the net.

Unless his account on Equifax and Experian are settled or satifield, but like my hubby says surely he would be a greater risk as self employed ?

Thank you for your response, but i actually want a co op current account with RAC cover, mobile phone cover etc. I have savings but that is for my holiday to Mexico for our 25th wedding anniversary which my bank knows about. I sold a lot of items a couple of weeks ago and with my wages managed to save. I am not really bothered myself about a credit card, its the case if anywhere needs a card imprint i haven't got one, except my Kalixa card.

Gosh, I was honest about everything. The OR has even taken my £5 premium bond.

I'm glad I'm not the only one confused about that - surely to accumulate that much in savings over the past year you would have been subject to an IPA?

So if you didnt accumulate in the past year, the OR would have taken it off you when you went BR?

Never mind, your situation not mine.....
