If I were you pinlpinkfizz, I would seriously complain to the manager and make him/her aware of the wasted journey you made. Also, you could try online as a last resort.

The manager I spoke with is not back on shift until 1 pm today, so I have to be patient!
I know before I go back, though, I will be wasting my breath.
Ive been checking online regularly to see if they come back into stock.
I'm tempted to go for something else altogether now to save myself the frustration of getting no where with Tesco.pinkpinkfizz

1 out of 2 ain't bad - wouldnt say the rugby was that good after the thumping from Widnes last night

I got one yesterday in the Southend Tesco Extra on my way home. Not that I needed one, I've got it build into my car and on my phone, but I thought at this price it is nice to have one for a rental car etc....
Well here is my impression...
Positives
1. Neat little unit
2. Pretty fast in operation
3. Really nice graphics especially in 3D operation
4. Not 'afraid' to use country lanes
5. Don't need a computer to get it started (I switched it on in the car-park)
Negatives
1. Totally useless in daylight; the display turns into a mirror
2. Volume on the speaker is not loud enough; had my stereo on a normal level and could hear anything
3. Yes does postcode lookup, but no house numbers!!! So still guess work when you arrive
All in all, mine is going back as this is just totally useless, can't see it, can't hear it, and can't navigate door to door.....
No wonder it is so cheap me thinks....0 -

Sorry to hear that you were disappointed but I am happy with mine.
The display was fine once angled correctly. I agree the speaker volume may be too low if you have the stereo on but I managed ok. As for not being able to put in the house number, a postcode only covers up to 80 properties and is usually a lot less, so it should not be too much trouble to find the house once you are on the street.
This is a cheap Sat Nav so it will never compare with a built in one in a car (which probably cost at least 10 times more anyway) but it works adequately, gets from A to the proximity of B. All in all, I think this is a great entry level system.0 -

i had this problem when i got mine...after playing around with it for 1/2 an hour , i turned up the brightness to full and seemed to be ok in the daylight
the problem i have is that mounting it comes on vibrating so much i can see the satnav properly0 -
A few foibles with mine - the one laptop does not recognise it through Activesync, the other laptop locks up when it is connected.
And the third says it recognises it, does not lock up, and then tells me I have a hardware problem.
Manual details the MP3 player and Piccy Viewer but not the Nav part???
But I like the installation charges - £34.95 or the deluxe for £54.95 - is that the one with the real hair?0 -

In my local Halfords they had the Garmin C510 for £100, this unit is comparable with the Tomtom ONE and is a different league to these smaller cheaper units.
For infomation on the Garmin see the link below.
