Lol! I wondered if I was being thick then. :)

Well I guess that figures that one out... Still think it's an unfair way to do things.

Still wonder why they called me though.... Guess I will await the email explaining why they declined me... If they ever bother to reply

Thank you for your help guys :)

    Steve

You are a new customer and maybe they want to speak to you before they go ahead with the order.

In some cases they ask for a small deposit on first orders.

Why dont you give customers services a call?

when I started they wouldn't let me, now can have whatever I want
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

you do, they just will not allow you to purchase goods on buy now pay later....there is a difference.

the reason they will not allow you to buy now pay later could be based on the fact they do not have enough of an idea on how you will conduct your account

In my experience with Littlewoods and Very, this is correct.

You were provisionally given a £500 and later declined the limit after further checks.

Even if you were granted the credit limit after additional checks, you would have to make a couple of payments on your account b4 they will even consider you BNPL offer. They need to see if you are a regular payer first.

This isn't strictly correct. I ordered by laptop on BNPL on Friday, got an call on Sunday to advise the account had been accepted and had the laptop arrive yesterday. I've never had an account with them or brought anything previously. My boyfriend did the same, his laptop is due for delivery today!

I went on a price comparison site and found the item I wanted was the cheapest from Very. I applied online for an account and was accepted straight away with a £1k credit limit. I ordered the item the same day and in my case never had any verbal contact with them at all. Also it was a BNPL.

Also I only wanted a £200 cl to cover the item and initially through email got them to lower the limit but every few months I keep receiving a message advising they have increased my limit.

I would definately use them again only if they came out cheapest.

Hi im having the same problem apart from my credit limit is still there. i got accepted for £300 credit and placed an order 1st ever one. it said thankyou for you order and gave me a delivery date. when i checked it on track this order it says credit rejected. Im sorry but why the hell give credit then not let them use it sounds silly if the item doesnt get delivered i will be going else were to purchase the goods. its the first time i have had a catalogue well any credit at all. my credit rating is off the chart good. i will be giving a bad review
  • Same happened here, I was accepted with credit limit £600 and I made an order but they said they can not authorise it when I call them as I was waiting for the delivery all day long and at the end of the day if I didnt call them I wouldnt know.

I bought a £600 or so iPad on BNPL with Very within minutes of opening my account so you definitely don't need to have been with them for a while before you use BNPL. I should also mention that my credit history isn't great. However, you do need to spend over a certain amount to qualify for BNPL. I think it's at least £100. I wonder if the OP trying to use credit for £32.00 has thrown a spanner in the works somehow.
  • I have a Very account, which I opened last year. I've actually found them to be a heck of a lot cheaper on most things ive bought:

32" TV, £220, which had 10% off cos it was my first order. It was £270 in Argos

VAX hoover, £120 in Very, £199 in Argos.

Diesel jeans, £70 in Very, £130 in House of Fraser ans ASOS.

Ugg boots, £100 in Very ( i had a £30 discount code) Normally £130, which is what they are in most places.

I must admit, I was suprised at how cheap they've turned out to be. Although obviously some things are more expensive.
